Today we bring the news that long standing accommodation firm Alpharooms has had its membership to the Travel Trade Association closed, and it's parent holding company has ceased trading (which also includes Teletext holidays under the umbrella). Although they are not are not one of our accommodation or 'package' suppliers, any affected customers can claim a refund for Alpharooms on existing bookings by visiting

WOW! Despite being temporarily closed we did it! ... 1000 page likes! To mark the occasion we thought we would introduce ourselves a little bit!

“Hi, we are John and Becky the owners behind TripTaker.co.uk. We have been together almost six years (married for one), and drawn together by our love for aviation along with a passion for travelling. Since we have been together we have visited 17 countries and 51 cities together and we still have a huge list of places we are yet to visit.

When we travel, we are both very interested in the culture and the local cuisine and try to get involved as much as possible. When we travel, we are also educating ourselves on destinations. So if our customers have any questions about a destination we have visited, we are able to provide detailed reviews and personal recommendations.

As well as our travelling background, we also have a combined total of 15 years working within the aviation industry at both Leeds Bradford and Manchester airport. We have both gained a great deal of knowledge and experience over the years which has helped us to build TripTaker, our independent travel based comparison website.

Whether you’re booking a Holiday, excursions or airport parking, we want to make sure the whole process is hassle free. That’s why at TripTaker we have everything you could possibly need all under one roof and if we can't offer it we'll tell you where to get it. Fair enough? Dear TripTaker fans - We knew the time may come and unfortunately that time is now. We held on as long as we could but now have no other option than to temporarily close TripTaker until the future of travel becomes a little clearer. Our suppliers are protecting themselves by temporarily suspending their platforms due to Covid-19 which means we will be unable to provide any deals, options or tickets until further notice. Don't worry though as we WILL be back and this is only a temporary measure. It could be weeks or even months but we'll be back bigger and better than before and with your continued support we will continue to build TripTaker and help people save money. Please don't stop telling and inviting people as we rely on you for when we start again. We will post an update when we receive further notification but until then we wish you and your families all the very best, please stay safe and we will see you all very soon.
