After a month of blue skies in the Alps, our March Tour du Soleil trip saw heavy snowfall which fully tested everyone’s low-vis ski skills.
With rising avalanche risk, the team had to bail from the Mittlenberg hut on day two and drive round to Rifugio Margaroli. On day three, they managed to summit the classic Punta d'Arbola (3,235m) in a rare moment of clear weather.
Day four started with a super-fun ski down to Riale followed by skin up to the hut. On day five they teamed up with two other guided groups for some low-vis skiing towards Punta di Elgio.
On day six they relocated for a couple of nice ski tours near Rifugio Castiglioni, and could finally see where they were going!
A big thanks Cain Olsen MountainGuides.Italy for all his hard work in these difficult conditions and to Matt, Seb, Johnathan, Francis, Andrew and Chris for their positivity and great team work in the mountains!
