Back in the spring Macy and I went on a mother-daughter shopping trip to Leeds and it was made even more special by our stay at The Met Hotel

Housed in an impressive 1890s building full of character and history, the hotel has recently been refurbished, with stylish, modern rooms.

Its location couldn't be better – just a 3-minute walk from Leeds Train Station and 5 minutes from the city centre, making it the perfect base for shopping, sightseeing, business travel, or a weekend getaway.

The staff were cool, friendly and welcoming, I loved the contemporary uniform!
The breakfast buffet in Gotts Bar & Kitchen was outstanding. I always judge a hotel by its breakfast, and The Met certainly didn't disappoint – there was a fantastic selection and everything was delicious.

A fab stay in the heart of Leeds, combining historic charm, modern comfort and excellent modern service. I'd happily recommend this city centre hotel to anyone.

Joined a couple of live webinars today with the 'Guru' Kineta Kelsall of School of Social about social media strategies.

She arrived in my inbox as a referral from a regular client- and my motherly instincts kicked in straight away.

In her early 20s, heading to the USA solo for a work placement and then some travelling, she had the most amazing opportunity ahead of her… but also needed a bit of expert guidance.

Que Mother Hen Jo.

I made sure she understood all the essential elements of her connecting flight, making sure she had a safe comfortable base when she got there before she went to her work placement, that also included a free shuttle from the Airport to save getting in a Cab solo on her arrival in a new city. All in keeping within the budget she gave me.

So happy everything went smoothly for her once she arrived and I am looking forward to hearing from her about her adventures in the USA.

For me, this is what being a Travel Counsellor is all about: not just booking tickets, but caring about the person holding them.
