What an adventure these lot had! 🎢

First stop was Orlando, staying on site at Universal and making the most of all the parks including the amazing new Epic Universe, plenty of Harry Potter magic ⚡️🪄, a wander through Springfield (with a Duff Beer, obviously 🍺😂) and Flo finally getting the wand she’d been hoping for!

Then it was off to Detroit to spend time with family, plus the full American sporting experience at a Detroit game 🏟️… which also happened to include Flo Rida performing! 🎤 Not a bad night out!

And because apparently they hadn’t squeezed enough into one trip 😂… they also made it to the incredible Niagara Falls. 💦

I really enjoyed putting this one together, especially knowing them so well and seeing all the photos coming through as they travelled and that they made lots of special family memories together.

Theme parks, family time, sport and a proper bucket-list moment at Niagara Falls – such a brilliant family adventure 🇺🇸❤️

Spiral UK vs the Ryanair sizer 👀✈️

We’ve had our Spiral UK Traveller Deluxe 20L for a while now – it even came travelling around Thailand with us 🇹🇭 – so it was time to put it to the Ryanair sizer test for the free small underseat bag allowance

And… it fits! 🙌

We love this backpack, it has loads of useful compartments, including a padded laptop section and hidden valuables pocket, plus it’s water resistant! I think I need the pink one 💗

One important thing to know – this spec can expand from 20L up to 24L, so for Ryanair we kept the roll top rolled down rather than packing it to full capacity.

Apparently even in the 80's I'd have been a Travel Agent....and I think I missed my Era.

Big hair, bigger earrings, shoulder pads and a desk full of brochures… with Club 18–30 Lloret de Mar taking pride of place! ✈️😂

Booking travel has changed just a little since then… I do still love a brochure though!

A little Paris personal hotel recommendation…

We stayed at Le Derby Alma by Inwood Hotels on our recent Paris trip and I’d definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for somewhere special in a brilliant location.

It’s in the 7th arrondissement, just a few minutes’ walk from the Eiffel Tower and the Seine, so it was such an easy base for exploring Paris. 🗼

There are also plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Rue Cler is nearby, with its cafés, restaurants, bakeries and little food shops, so finding somewhere for dinner was really easy. You’re also well placed for walking to lots of other areas and sights, or jumping on the Métro when you want to venture a bit further.

The hotel has a lovely Haute Couture theme, with fashion-inspired touches throughout — very Paris 👗✨

But for me, the best bit was my secret room reveal…

I’d booked us the Family Suite on the top floor with an Eiffel Tower view and managed to keep that little detail completely secret from Macy and Edie. 🤫🗼

They thought we were just checking into our Paris hotel, so watching them walk into the room and then realise the Eiffel Tower was right there outside our window was priceless. I’d been waiting for that moment and their faces did not disappoint. 😂❤️

The staff helped make their birthday stay even more special too. They’d left little Eiffel Tower sweets and a teddy each waiting for them — such a thoughtful touch and something the girls absolutely loved. 🧸

And that really summed up the staff throughout our stay — so friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming .

Stylish, personal, a fantastic location and a pretty special room reveal… Le Derby Alma was a great choice for our Paris trip and definitely one I’d happily recommend to my clients. ❤️
