From Hajj & Umrah Express, we wish all our muslim brothers and sisters around the world, a Blessed Islamic New Year!

The new Islamic year begins with Muharram – one of the four sacred months honored by Allah ﷻ. 🌙

It’s a time when good deeds are multiplied and sins carry greater weight. The Prophet ﷺ called it “the month of Allah,” and he encouraged fasting in it – especially on the Day of Ashura.

Ashura marks the day Allah ﷻ saved Musa (AS) and Bani Israel from Pharaoh. In gratitude, the Prophet ﷺ fasted and advised us to fast on the 9th & 10th (or 10th & 11th).

Muharram is also a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of Hussain (RA) at Karbala – a lasting example of standing for truth and justice.

In this sacred month:
✨ Fast on Ashura (9th & 10th or 10th & 11th)
✨ Increase your dhikr, dua, and reflection
✨ Avoid cultural innovations not part of the Sunnah
✨ Honour Muharram with sincerity and purpose

Every year, as the Islamic New Year begins, the Kiswah of the Ka’bah is renewed.

This sacred tradition is far more than the replacement of a cloth. The Kiswah, crafted from the finest silk and adorned with Qur’anic verses embroidered in gold, is replaced to preserve its beauty, honour, and dignity after a year of exposure to the elements and the millions of worshippers who visit the House of Allah.

Months of meticulous craftsmanship go into producing the new Kiswah, reflecting the care and reverence given to the most sacred site in Islam.

Its renewal also carries a powerful reminder for us all. As the Ka’bah receives a new covering, we are encouraged to enter the new Islamic year with renewed faith, sincere repentance, and a stronger connection to Allah.

May Allah allow us to continually renew our hearts, just as this blessed tradition continues year after year.
