Our family holiday in Africa continued in Botswana and Namibia on the Chobe river aboard the Chobe Princess houseboat.

There is something magical about gliding down the river through wildlife rich waters that slows down time.
Elephants gather on the banks, hippos surface nearby, birds fill the sky and nature quietly works its way into your soul…This is safari at its most peaceful.

Visits to a local Namibian village add a meaningful cultural dimension and left us with memories to treasure.

Anantara Stanley & Livingstone hotel located 20 mins south of Victoria Falls town.
Perfect for relaxation and peace and quiet. Located in the Zambezi National park you can view monkeys, giraffe, impala and occasional big cats right from your balcony.
We did a game drive and found a Black Rhino 🦏, impala, giraffe 🦒 and a honey badger 🦡. Although they do have big cats, elephant, wild dogs and hippos here.
A perfect stay if you’re short of time and want a quick safari after seeing Vic Falls.
The food and service here were incredible! 🇿🇼

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 we travelled over the bridge that crosses the mighty Zambezi river from Zambia 🇿🇲 where 25% of the falls lie over to Zimbabwe where the other 75% sits.
Seeing the falls from both sides makes you appreciate the scale. At 1.7km long and in high season (Apr-May) 550 million litres of water per minute pass over the edge. Getting soaked is part of the experience. 💦
Our hotel the Palm River is located on the banks of the Zambezi - which has hippos 🦛 the occasional crocodile 🐊 and warthogs 🐗. Not to panic as we have an electric fence so they don’t venture far from the river bank.

Victoria Falls, where the mighty Zambezi river cascades, falling 108m. We stayed at the Royal Livingstone by Anantara on the Zambian side - located in Mosi-oa-Tunya national park so zebra, impala and giraffes roam free!
From here you can walk to the falls and get soaking wet! We also did a game drive and a walking safari with white Rhinos! 🦏 Absolutely amazing!

A Botswana safari experience is truly unique, especially in the Okavango Delta, an area only reached by light aircraft.

We got so close to the animals with a hippo passing by our tent and waking up in the middle of the night to a lions roar!! 🦁
Our safari guide tracked down the lions and could even predict their pace. He was so knowledgeable, not only about the bigger animals but the bird life and flora too.

It’s such a special experience driving through the water. We also loved being so remote - Stanley’s camp only had 10 tents so a safari here never feels busy or commercial. We only saw two other vehicles from our camp 🏕️
