Picked up a car and drove out to Cocoa Beach on the East coast - via Wild Florida; a safari park set in natural Florida landscape- cypress trees - a huge lake and lots of Alligators! We met sloths, snakes, birds and armadillos. We did the obligatory airboat ride and saw them in the wild. We ended the day with a dip in the Atlantic as our hotel is on the beach.

Epic Universe; the brand new Universal park opened in May this year. They have 5 themed ‘worlds’ inside the park - We loved Super Nintendo world and The Wizarding world of Harry Potter!

Being new expect crowds and long wait times. We loved the stardust racer rollercoaster for big thrills and The battle at the Ministry ride was incredible!

Universal, Florida. We are staying onsite at Cabana Bay hotel, just a short shuttle bus ride from the park entrance.
After checking in we ordered pizza to our room and cooled off in the pool and lazy river!

Day 1; walked 26,800 steps and covered Universal City walk, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Our favourite ride was Hagrid’s motorcycle rollercoaster! Working ourselves up for Velocicoaster!

Travelling in August means fewer crowds as the American kids are back at school.
The weather is hot but not uncomfortable and prone to thunderstorms.

Tomorrow we’re chilling in Volcano Bay waterpark!

Another long weekend spent with family in Budapest! It’s such a beautiful city. We did the regular sights and took the children’s railway up to the Buda hills where it was cooler then took the chairlift down. We visited the thermal baths on Margit island and visited the cave hospital which housed the injured in the Russian occupation in 1944 then was used as an underground bunker in preparation for the very real possibility of nuclear war. So insightful. My own father spent some time in there as a child.
