Down the Roman for a bit of pie mash 🥧
A cockney classic, you either love it or hate it. It’s simply comfort food and began as London’s original fast food in the 19th century.
This pie mash shop G Kelly was founded in 1939 by George Kelly, lending the shop its name. However, the shop has remained a Pie & Mash shop since the early 1920’s.
Ordered two pies, eyes bigger than my belly. 😆Normally can only manage one as it’s filling.
If you’ve never eaten pie mash.. flip the pies over, cut them over and splash chilli vinegar, salt and pepper on it. 👌😋
Went for an impromptu lunch at Palmers Restaurant the Sunday roast was delicious!
Always passed this restaurant but not been in to try and glad we did this time. Always good to support locally and independently!
We tried the roast chicken and beef, meat was tender and seasoned well!
On Fridays they have a steak dinner offer for just £18 pp!
