Day 1-Sacré-Cœur Basilica & The Conciergerie
1. Sacré-Cœur Basilica:
***The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica consecrated in 1919,dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France.
***It stands 130 metres above ground,at the top of the Butte Montmarte. You can climb upto the dome to get 360° most beautiful panoramic view of the capital. This church is recognizable by its white colour.
2. The Conciergerie:
***The Conciergerie was built as a Royal Family residence and seat of the French Parliament between the tenth and fourteenth century but presently used mostly for law courts.
***It was part of the former royal palace, the Palais de la Cité, which consisted of the Conciergerie, Palais de Justice and the Sainte-Chapelle. The Conciergerie became one of the principal places of detention during the French Revolution, with the installation of the Revolutionary Court.
