In Loving Memory of Irfan Ali Mirza
Rest in peace, fly high... 🕊
✨️✨️✨️
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Irfan Ali Mirza, a cherished British Airways flight attendant, loving husband, devoted father, and dear friend to many around the world. He was 45 years old.
Irfan was found in his San Francisco hotel room on April 17th, during a layover following a flight from London Heathrow. When he didn’t report for duty, colleagues raised the alarm—only to discover the heartbreaking news. Authorities confirmed there was no evidence of foul play, though the exact cause of death remains under investigation.
A dedicated member of the British Airways family for over 20 years, Irfan was known for his warmth, humor, and generosity. He was the kind of person who made every trip memorable, whether on a long-haul flight or during a crew layover. He had a gift for lifting spirits and connecting with people, bringing joy to every room he entered.
Irfan leaves behind his beloved wife Jai, and their three young children, the youngest of whom was born just last year. He also leaves his parents and three siblings.
His brother Kamran expressed deep sorrow, writing: "Cannot express how hard it is that Irfan left his parents, us three siblings, and his wife and children behind. It's totally heartbreaking." His sister Amber shared how close they were, recalling treasured childhood memories and Irfan’s constant guidance throughout her life.
Fellow crew members have paid tribute, describing Irfan as “the life and soul of the party,” “a true gentleman,” and “a man with sunshine in his soul.” He was known for his kindness, professionalism, and ability to bring people together—on board and beyond.
British Airways released a statement offering their condolences: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of our colleague at this difficult time.”
Though Irfan’s passing has left the skies a little darker, his memory continues to shine through every story, every smile, and every soul he touched, so please share any in the comment section below.
May he rest peacefully.
Forever missed. Forever loved. Forever United By Wings🕊
