In March, Coast Mountain Academy had an incredible week in Italy, exploring some of the world’s most fascinating historical and cultural sites 🌍 ✈️ .

From exploring the streets of Pompeii and Herculaneum to standing on the edge of Mount Vesuvius, students experienced history in a way no classroom could ever recreate. The journey continued through Naples and on to Rome, where the group immersed themselves in the wonders of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican Museums and the breathtaking Sistine Chapel.

Along the way, students discovered ancient Greek temples at Paestum, explored underground catacombs, embraced Italian culture, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come 🙂 ✨ .

Ever wondered what it’s like to swap the classroom for the Great Wall? Didcot Sixth Form students did exactly that on their recent school trip to China😀!

The group hit the ground running, standing in the heart of the vast Tiananmen Square and wandering through the intricate, hidden corners of the Forbidden City. A particular highlight was the sheer scale of the Great Wall, where students hiked between ancient watchtowers and took in breathtaking views across the mountains ✨.

Beyond the famous landmarks, the trip was all about cultural immersion. Students embraced life in China firsthand – from mastering chopsticks to sampling authentic hotpot for the very first time. It was fantastic to see them step outside their comfort zones and return with a broader, global perspective.

We recently caught up with Jo, a coach from Camrose AFC, to talk about their recent school tour to Portugal. For many players, this was their first time leaving Wales - and they went big. We’re talking about playing football in the British Ambassador’s private garden, training at the world-renowned Benfica facilities, and even catching waves while surfing the Atlantic coast🏄‍♀️🏟️!

But the real highlight? Seeing the girls rise to the challenge. Jo shared how playing top-tier Lisbon academies pushed the team to a whole new level, earning them standing ovations from local fans and new friendships cemented over post-match TikToks 📈🙌.
