The Virtual Manager Podcast is going live!⠀

As of this Friday, I will be hosting a LIVE version of The Virtual Manager Podcast every single week on Clubhouse.⠀
⠀
The podcast provided bite-sized music industry tips to music artists, helping you to progress your music careers and better navigate the industry. I know how useful this has been over the last couple of years, and it’s how many of you found my work.⠀
⠀
However, what it didn’t allow was for me to interact with you - hear your thoughts and answer your questions.⠀
⠀
For those of you who are long-time followers, you’ll know that I first started by giving free seminars to music artists on Facebook Live (several years ago now!) So this new chapter of the podcast represents a ‘back to basics’ for me.⠀

Every Friday at 12.30pm BST I’ll be hosting a live discussion for music artists, and I’ll also be jumping on to Clubhouse for ad-hoc conversations from time to time too.⠀

Why I’m no longer guaranteeing results🔮
⠀
I created The Virtual Manager for one simple reason; I wanted to provide as many music artists as possible with the information they needed to progress their music careers.⠀
⠀
What I did not set out to do was guarantee results. ⠀
⠀
The reason for this is because results can vary for a multitude of reasons (most of which have absolutely nothing to do with how good the music is). For example, timing, luck, mindset, health, resources, location, personality, trends, technology, and ex*****on, amongst others.⠀
⠀
The problem with striving for results is that you may be setting false expectations. ⠀
⠀
Then, when you don’t get those exact results (despite the incredible progress, learnings and creativity achieved along the way) you feel you’ve ‘failed’. ⠀
⠀
This can then cause you to quit music because you think you’re not getting as good ‘results’ as another artist.⠀
⠀
This is the exact opposite of what I set out to help you achieve. ⠀
⠀
That’s why, from here on in, I’m no longer guaranteeing results.⠀
⠀
I cannot guarantee you results. And neither can anyone else so please avoid managers, programmes or services that guarantee you 10,000 new fans overnight, hit songs or huge earnings.⠀
⠀
You could be the most talented music artist in the world, with the most incredible team, and still not achieve certain results. That’s the reality of pursuing a music career.⠀

The Virtual Manager is not about RESULTS.⠀
⠀

• The Virtual Manager is about you building a sustainable business⠀
• The Virtual Manager is about access to the information and tools you need, whenever you need them⠀

What I can guarantee you is consistent progress, learning and development in your music career, at an accelerated rate.⠀

Founded in January 2011, AR Artist Management turned 10 this week.⠀

In that time I’ve:⠀
⠀
- Consulted for and mentored hundreds of artists⠀
- Built an affordable artist management resource & community for independent artists, The Virtual Manager⠀
- Produced The Virtual Manager podcast⠀
- Tutored and given masterclasses at dozens of music colleges & conferences⠀
- Sourced vocalists, scouted talent and judged auditions on several high-profile projects⠀
- And, of course, managed a roster of artists throughout ⠀
⠀
There have also been many mis-steps, mistakes and flat out failures.

Circumstances, trends, technology and marketing strategies will change, so if you’re an artist at the beginning of your journey, just know that adaptability is always an asset.⠀
