First Expeditions

First Expeditions First Expeditions plan and lead challenging and often pioneering land and sea adventures in some of the most wild and remote regions of the planet.

The areas we operate in include the Jungle, Desert, Ocean, River, Icecap and Mountain. No terrain or environment is out of bounds to us. Our expeditions are open to anyone with a thirst for adventure. Whilst we aim for world first expeditions that have never been attempted or achieved before, our trips are not limited to this status. Born out of a love for adventure, our trips aim to take in all o

f the world’s natural beauty. The adventures that we run all have a challenging aim, from navigating unchartered waters to bushwhacking unknown trails. Anyone who joins one of our expeditions works together to help make it a success. First Expeditions is one of the few companies that guide clients on truly raw and unpampered journeys, through some of the world’s most beautiful and wild places. We create our own paths and all our adventures are guided by local experts in the field.

A wonderful article, featuring the late polar explorer Henry Worsley, explaining the different methods for crossing Antarctica and why some ways are much harder than others.

The late Antarctic explorer Henry Worsley was a perfectly closed system skiing across the underbelly of the planet---he might have well have been alone on Mars.

Feeling hot & muggy? Imagine washing under Jordan falls in the wild Kanuku Mountains before cooking on a wild fire and getting into your hammock. GUYANA EXPEDITION INFORMATION - The group will arrive in Georgetown, Guyana and spend a night in a local hotel. The next day we'll be driven into the jungle in 4x4's. After no more than a couple of hours on the track, we'll throw our packs into a motorised dug out canoe and make our way into the interior and our start point. On this raw 10 day jungle trek we'll learn how to catch local food, and how to cook it. We'll also learn how to make fire using natural materials. Our aim is to see some of the world's most glorious species ranging from giant anteaters, the Jaguar and of course some of the most spectacular birdlife in the world. We have just 5 places left on this expedition so if you'd like to join, simply email [email protected] for more information.

DEAD HEDGEHOG ALERT. Whilst travelling through Wadi Rum we found a hedgehog that had crawled into a plastic bottle and couldn't get out... Rubbish kills, recycle the plastic.
