Looking for the ultimate Cape Town sanctuary? Hidden in the heart of South Africa’s oldest wine valley, The Last Word Constantia is the definition of "quiet luxury."

Why We Love It:

Intimate Vibe: A boutique manor that feels like a private home.

Wine Country Access: Moments away from the legendary Groot Constantia.

Serene Gardens: Sunken lounges and lush greenery perfect for a slow afternoon.

The Suites: Massive, elegant rooms that open directly into the garden.

It’s the perfect balance of vineyard peace and easy access to the city’s highlights.

Golden hour in the South Luangwa… and a shadow moves through the trees.

Known as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations, South Luangwa National Park in Zambia has earned a special reputation: it’s one of the best places in the world to see leopards in the wild.

Elusive, powerful and impossibly beautiful, these big cats thrive along the Luangwa River, where ancient ebony trees and open lagoons create the perfect hunting ground. As dusk settles over the bush, guides scan the branches and riverbanks — because here, a leopard sighting is never far away.

Sometimes draped lazily over a tree branch.
Sometimes slipping silently through the long grass.
Always unforgettable.

Ever wondered what it feels like to sit at the top of the world’s largest curtain of falling water? Welcome to Devil’s Pool, the ultimate infinity pool located right on the lip of Victoria Falls.

For a few months every year, when the Zambezi river levels drop, a natural rock barrier forms an eddy, allowing the bravest travellers to swim right to the edge. It’s 100 metres of sheer drop-off, a thunderous roar in your ears, and a view that most people only see in their dreams (or nightmares!).

They may look prehistoric, but every encounter with a rhino feels intensely alive.

Seeing a rhino isn’t just about the photo. It’s about witnessing resilience, supporting conservation, and being part of a story that still needs protecting.

Travel with purpose. Experience the wild responsibly. And if you’re lucky enough to lock eyes with a rhino… you’ll never forget it.

Mozambique's Bazaruto archipelago is divine in May. The cyclone season is long over as is the scorching heat of mid-summer. And as cooler and calmer weather kicks in, conditions underwater improve leading to greater visibility – making it one of the best places to visit in May for divers and snorkellers. This beach also destination combines easily with a safari in Southern or East Africa.

Tanzania's Mahale Mountains National Park is pure, untouched magic—lush forests, remote beaches, and wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Trek through the jungle, lock eyes with a chimp, then unwind on the shores of Lake Tanganyika at sunset.

Off the beaten path. Completely unforgettable.

Far from the crowds and deep in northern Botswana lies the Linyanti, a pristine wilderness where Africa feels raw, untamed, and wonderfully alive. This remote corner of the safari world is famous for its vast wetlands, ancient woodlands, and extraordinary wildlife encounters.

Imagine watching massive elephant herds gather along the riverbanks, lions moving through the tall grass at dusk, and the rare African wild dogs racing across the plains. In the Linyanti, every moment feels intimate — as if it belongs only to you.

Bo-Kaap is one of Cape Town’s most iconic neighbourhoods. Nestled on the slopes of Signal Hill, this vibrant area is famous for its rainbow-painted houses and cobblestone streets that make every corner photo-worthy.

But Bo-Kaap is more than just beautiful walls. It’s the heart of Cape Malay culture, where traditions, flavours, and stories have been passed down for generations. Wander through the streets, visit the historic Bo-Kaap Museum, and follow the scent of spices drifting from local kitchens.

Ready to experience one of Cape Town’s most unique neighbourhoods for yourself?

Last week saw the launch on Netflix of ‘A Gorilla Story’ – in which Sir David Attenborough tells the tale of a remarkable group of gorillas, from his first meeting with them in 1978 right up-to the present day.

Africa Travel’s clients have been spending time with these gentle giants for almost as long as Sir David, and in addition to organising trips to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, we can also arrange for you to view these wonderful primates in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which plays host to just under half of the world's Mountain Gorilla population.

So follow in the footsteps of the planet’s most famous naturalist and see one of its most endangered species by contacting us on via the details in our bio and be ready to tell your very own Gorilla Story.
