What a week! Three Hidden Tudors Tours with three groups of Year 4 pupils 🏰

We spent the week trying to find the silk thief while exploring the remains of Tudor Southwark — the old playhouses, the Golden Hinde and Wi******er Palace. Some of them were SO convinced I was the silk thief 😂

Our walk is based on 's award-winning book The Time Tub Travellers and the Silk Thief — winner of the Diverse Book Awards and Ink Book Prize Best Debut 2024. It gets kids buzzing about Black British history, even the ones who say they don't like history!

Big thanks to the teachers who made it all happen. Three days, 90 kids, central London — that takes some doing 👏

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day 🕊️

A year ago, we shared why addressing historical injustice matters to us. That message rings even truer today.

Dr. King reminded us that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." When we erase voices from history, when we silence stories, when we allow narratives to go unchallenged—that's injustice too.

Whether uncovering Black Tudors in 16th century London or tracing Caribbean heritage in Notting Hill, our work is about more than facts and dates. It's about dignity. It's about centring the voices that have been pushed to the margins. It's about making sure the next generation inherits a more complete, more honest story of who we are.

History isn't neutral. The stories we choose to remember—and the ones we choose to forget—shape how we see ourselves and each other today.

We're committed to doing this work with rigour, respect, and community at the heart of everything we do.
