A recommendation for The Price at the Marylebone Theatre.
Arthur Miller’s family drama lays bare everything we sometimes prefer not to touch — the choices we made, the sacrifices we never fully admitted to, the memories we’ve carried for years, and the personal cost each of us pays for the path we chose.

The plot seems simple at first, but it’s charged with emotion:
Two brothers, estranged for many years, meet in their childhood apartment just before it’s demolished. They bring in an elderly appraiser to value their late father’s old furniture — but it quickly becomes clear that the furniture is only an excuse. What’s really “up for sale” is the past itself: who sacrificed for whom, who stayed and who walked away, who chose duty and who chose freedom, and the price each of them paid for those decisions.
It’s a meeting that strips family relationships down to the bone: love, loyalty, regret, old resentments that never quite disappear, and the gap between who we thought we’d become when we were young and who we actually are.

The production at Marylebone is deeply moving — the kind of theatre that reminds us how the stage can still be a place where we meet ourselves.
The venue is small and intimate, which only intensifies the experience.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves an honest and thoughtful theatre that raises real questions about family, responsibility, and life itself.
Running until June.
And just nearby — a perfect pub for a pre‑ or post‑show drinks🍺🙂
Cheers.

A wonderful springtime walk along the River Lea — trees in fresh leaf, boats drifting by, waterbirds and their chicks, parks opening up around you, and pubs dotted along the way. An easy, flat, genuinely fun route.
We started at Tottenham Hale station @ finished at Hackney Wick.
