The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is for non-visa nationals who want to travel to the UK. This includes people from countries that don't require a visa for short stays, as well as children and babies.

*Who needs an ETA?*
Non-visa nationals, including those from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, the US, Australia, and Canada
People transiting through the UK
People visiting the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, business, or academic study
People visiting family and friends
People undertaking a permitted paid engagement
People visiting for up to 3 months on the Creative Worker visa concession

*Who doesn't need an ETA?*
British and Irish passport holders
People with a visa, such as a Skilled Worker visa
People with other permission to live in the UK, such as indefinite leave to remain or pre-settled status
Non-visa nationals who are legally resident in Ireland and enter the UK from the Common Travel Area

Take note that Nigerian passport holders do not require the ETA visa except you fall under the category of second passport holder.
