I’m a huge fan of Lorenzo Quinn’s art and I love his iconic sculpture “Support” which he designed for the 2017 Venice Biennale. He’s putting those hands to good use here!

What a lovely way to welcome guests back to Italy, taking country roads! I will have the pleasure of taking our guests through Southern Italy down to Sicily, beginning in Rome. La Casa dei Pesci is an amazing project that aims at protecting the sea of Maremma, Tuscany through art.
It is the realization of the dream of Paolo Fanciulli, local fisherman and environmentalist – to halt illegal fishing and trawling which has terrible repercussions – destroying fish, invertebrates, corals, seaweed and seagrass, leaving behind a devastated environment.
By placing these beautiful marble sculptures in strategic positions in the sea off the coast of Tuscany, he hopes it will encourage people to look into the sea and understand how it is plundered every day by illegal fishing while creating obstacles that make illegal trawling extremely difficult.
A huge success, in just a few years nature is regaining the upper hand, sea plant life has flourished and the sea is becoming repopulated with fish. For more information on the ongoing project, the artists and how you can become involved: www.casadeipesci.it
