☀️ SPF vs Star Rating – What’s the Difference?

Choosing the right sun cream isn’t just about a high SPF!

🧴 SPF (Sun Protection Factor) protects against UVB rays, which cause sunburn and skin damage.

⭐️ Star rating measures protection against UVA rays, which pe*****te deeper into the skin and are linked to ageing and long-term damage.

🌞 You need BOTH for proper protection!
✅ Look for high SPF AND 4 or 5 UVA stars for full coverage.

🧴 SUNSCREEN 101: UVA, UVB & SPF EXPLAINED ☀️

Not all sun protection is created equal — here’s what the labels really mean:

🌞 UVB rays: These are the ones that cause sunburn and are the main cause of skin cancer. They’re strongest during midday and in sunny climates.

🌥️ UVA rays: These pe*****te deeper into the skin, leading to premature aging, wrinkles, and long-term damage. They’re present all year round, even on cloudy days.

🧪 SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor — and it mainly measures how well a sunscreen protects you from UVB rays, not UVA!

💡 For full coverage, always choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen — it protects against both UVA and UVB.
