One of the nicest parts of the British Summer is seeing one of the many open air theatre productions. Absolutely magical, when the weather is kind, as it was for Illyria's HMS Pinafore.
The company is touring 4 shows this Summer; The Wind in the Willows, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Pride & Prejudice and HMS Pinafore. If the other 3 are as good as this, you're in for a delightful treat if you catch a show.

The Herds arrives at Somerset House. This travelling art project aims to increase public awareness of the climate crisis. In this performance after a long journey in the heat with no food or water the animals one by one collapse and die.
The project started in April, in Kinshasa, in Africa and is travelling through Europe to the Artic Circle.

Review
'This walk is even better than the Globe theatre's tour, I learnt so many new fascinating facts that I now want to do all of Helen's walks.' - Burgunde Lukasser

The walk celebrates the life and legacy of Shakespeare and reflects on what has changed and what remains constant in over 400 years since he and his friends and contemporaries lived and worked in London.

The tour is 'as merry as the day is long' you'll remember it 'forever and a day,' and find 'parting is such sweet sorrow' when I say, 'our revels now are ended.'

The City of London Corporation hosted its annual Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony today, at the Guildhall. The Lord Mayor and Masters of various livery companies attend.

Taking part was 600 Squadron formed at RAF Northolt in 1925 in a bombing role, but re-designated a fighter squadron in 1934. They celebrate their centenary this year. It is the only RAF reserve unit within the M25.

To mark Armed Forces Day, flags are raised on buildings nationwide to show the nation's support for and to raise awareness of the Armed Forces over a week of celebrations.

Cross Bones Graveyard is an oasis of calm in Southwark honouring the dead, particularly the outcasts of society, with sculptures and tributes in this former paupers graveyard.
Many have fought developers and the church over the years to preserve the land as a garden to honour the dead, including former local resident and poet John Constable who was inspired to write about the 'Wi******er Geese' who lived worked and died in this area, as John Crow.
A vigil for the dead is held here every 23rd day of the Month.

Need a little lift in your day? Pop along to CAP for, Turner Prize winning, artist Martin Creed's Half the Air in a Given Space. This is one immersive experience that whether you're 8 or 80 you'll love.
His neon sign Everything is Going to be Alright greets you over the former church and London Drama Centre rehearsal space that has been an art gallery now since 2017.
I was so immersed in the balloons I missed the cakes!
For simple joy and sharing until 29th June.
Free but booking required as numbers limited per 15 minute playtime.
