I love absorbing the energy of a place. I am drawn to destinations that combine something for the mind as well as for the soul. A mix of natural beauty, fascinating culture and wonderful stories. If there’s a boat trip, I’m in my element. Throw in world-class w**es and delicious food, well, what more could one want?!

Which leads me nicely to Croatia.

I felt compelled to visit Croatia for many years before I actually did. When I arrived, I realised Croatia offered so much more than I had anticipated. Croatia’s landscape is so diverse. An abundance of unspoilt nature and crystal clear coastline AND over 1000 islands! There’s so much to learn from Croatia’s history and culture, and what feels like a UNESCO site on every corner. I spend months of the year in Croatia so I can share the beauty of this country with you.

Is Egypt safe to visit?

This is one of the questions I am asked most often by clients who want to travel to Egypt but feel nervous about the regional instability and their expected proximity to conflict areas.

My answer is yes. Egypt is safe to visit, and I am comfortable travelling there myself and confidently sending my clients there at the time of writing.

I have travelled to Egypt many times over the last 10 years, including during periods when many people were reluctant to go, and I have been confident enough to send my own family there, too.

So in a nutshell, yes, my view is that Egypt is safe to visit – and if that changes, then making sure you have the advice and support of a destination expert, to support your holiday, is vital.

Today is World Rhino Day 🦏

Black and white rhinos are still fighting for their future. In parts of Africa, rhinos are now dehorned simply to make them less attractive to poachers. A drastic measure, when nature gave them their horns for a reason.

And all for horn made of keratin, the same protein found in our hair and fingernails.

Today, just two northern white rhinos remain, both female.

These magnificent animals deserve a future in the wild.

Protect them, before we lose them. 🦏
