Despite storm Austen, our friends at Pengelly's Fish Shop are well stock today with yesterday's catch - so ideal for putting some prime Cornish fish on your dish for the week.

With a fishmongers on East Looe Quay, open today until 4pm, and a shop just over the border in Tavistock too, open until 3pm - there's some beautiful pollack, red mullet, plaice, skate, monk & cod on the counter....... in addition to Porthilly Oysters from Rock, north Cornwall, and St. Austell Bay mussels.

AMBER WEATHER WARNING

Storm 'Austen' is approaching Cornwall - the first named storm of the autumn/winter......we are certainly in for a very rough few days, with winds forecast to be at their worst from 5am Friday morning, gusting to 65 MPH.

We usually find the most reliable weather forecast from the MetOffice over at:

The wind direction is currently forecast to be all over the place. with periods of both onshore & offshore winds...... however our advice is always the same & to stay well back from the water's edge, coastal path & lower sea wall at Hannafore.

To get into the stormy spirit, you can enjoy two great shanty performances in the next couple of days. This evening (21st) Polperro Wreckers are at the Polperro Royal British Legion (9.15pm); and tomorrow (22nd) Miner Quay are singing at the The Jolly Sailor Inn - Looe 8.30pm.
