This month, LCC capacity in Europe grew 4.4% vs June 2024. Spain remains the country with most capacity, just ahead of the UK. Istanbul is the busiest airport, with capacity up 6.3% compared to this month last year.

As the BBC’s Race Across The World reached its finale last week, we decided to take up a similar challenge - a race across the world in the shortest possible time.
The results:
Legacy carriers: 76 hours | £3,200 – Faster, smoother connections, shorter layovers
Low-cost carriers: 110 hours | £1,800 – Longer waits and overnight stays, but significant savings of £1,400
