How many times do we hear or say ‘one day’ or ‘next time’
I’ll always remember my dad telling me “never mind we can do it next year” and sadly that year never came because he passed. Maybe that’s the reason I am why I am, I hate that saying. Now I try and live life to the max because no day, month or year is ever promised. We say it a lot but you only have 1 life, grab it with both hands, be present in it, enjoy it and life it to the max 🫶🏽

‘Normal’ would have kept us waiting for one day, we decided that ‘one day’ was the day we had our first daughter. We knew from the minute we fell pregnant we wanted to create a life where we could raise her, create a sustainable income and show her the world. To date we have travelled full-time, welcomed a second child, embraced world schooling and are about to welcome our 3rd child. Over the years we’ve adapted and travel has changed for us, we had a base to have our second daughter and now have another base whilst we have our 3rd. Next year we plan to hit the road again! What that looks like, we still don’t know. 27 countries in and we’ve no intention of stopping. We’re not here to try and sell you something, where here to simply say there are other ways aside from the ‘norm’ we are sold. If you have a vision, go for it! 🫶🏽

Is there a perfect way to raise kids? Definitely not. Is this the best way we see fit for us? Absolutely yes. Ultimately kids deserve the best upbringing possible, full of love and patience. For us raising our kids around the world has brought us so much joy, togetherness and sparked endless curiosity, we have no intentions of stopping. What’s your philosophy on raising kids? 🫶🏽

Why we value roadtrips as an important part of our kids’ childhood. They teach resilience. Patience. Curiosity. Yes, we allow iPads for travel in short stints, for the rest of the trip we encourage conversation, getting comfortable being ‘bored’, looking out the window at geography passing them by, seeing new towns, mountains, rivers etc. Understanding that good things take time.

ad | All of these were key when we took the Land Rover Discovery on a roadtrip to France recently, covering over 700 miles without breaking a sweat. With seven seat versatility we were able to genuinely pack everything bar the kitchen sink - ideal for a family roadtrip. As are the endless clever storage spots, especially for the girls traveling in the back, extensive storage and deep door pockets perfect for holding all their books, pens and pencils. Snacks are also a huge part of road trips for us, having the integrated centre console fridge was a godsend, perfect for keeping yoghurt pouches and drinks cool throughout. Sounds corny but the miles went far smoother traveling in this beauty. Do you have any road trips coming up or where has been your favourite?

Children don’t need a childhood that looks like everyone else’s. They need a childhood that is right for them. And if that doesn’t look like a traditional school, wrap around care and a 9-5 that’s ok. Just because life has a predictable norm, doesn’t mean that it’s the right way. Often it’s not, it’s just a system that’s been curated as it’s ‘fit for purpose’. You are allowed to design a life outside of this that works for you, your children and your family. Whether that involves more travel and world schooling like it does for us or whether that’s for other reasons, and your children will thrive. What’s your view?

Embarrassment is an unexplored emotion. Truth is, we still cringe every day with what we do but we do it anyway because we have experienced first hand what’s on the other side of ‘cringe.’ Let go of the fear, put yourself out there because really who cares!? You’re only holding yourself back from doing the one thing you really want to do. You’ve got this! 🫶🏽

A weekend well spent in London at The Cadogan. One of the most iconic luxury hotels in London who always go above and beyond. Where the kids room comes complete with popcorn maker, fruits, books, steps in the bathroom and child friendly toiletries, they’d even left a pregnancy pillow on the bed for me. These small details make a lasting impression. Another beautiful stay here, in the heart of London with access to a green and playground across the road and incredible food at the in-house British Bistro, Willett’s British Bar & Bistro London, the crumpets and pancakes are not to be missed!
