It’s ironic, isn’t it?
that in reality when you actually go, The Congo doesn’t make you feel like you might die—
In reality, it makes you feel more alive than you ever thought possible.
This is unlike any other safari .
If seeing the Masai Mara by minibus is like a group school trip to the Louvre,
then Kamba – Odzala is like slipping into an empty gallery when everyone has gone home, with all the time in the world to stand in front of the one canvas that moves you.
Next month, I’ll be returning to Rep Congo this time to the Odzala-Kokoua National Park, staying at three extraordinary camps deep in the heart of the rainforest—in clearings and on the savannah.

Zambia’s Only Horseback Safari.

If you like the idea of exploring wild Africa on horseback, this is your kind of adventure. Of course, the ability to ride a horse helps! This safari is best for confident riders, but if you’re booking as a private group or family, we can cater to all experience levels—even complete beginners. And if someone in your group prefers to keep their feet firmly on the ground, that’s no problem! Non-riders are welcome too, with plenty of ways to enjoy the magic of Similaha from a different perspective.

Run with passion and expertise by our friends, the Evans family, this is Zambia’s only dedicated horseback safari, set in the remote and little-known Similaha Community Conservancy.
