A place to reflect 🙏
Did you know that what is now the Cloister Gardens were once the quiet meditative space for the monks of the Benedictine Abbey to reflect.

The present day pergola was built in 1980 for the 1100th anniversary of the Town’s charter and opened by Princess Anne.

We know the cloisters had a magnificent vaulted ceiling based on the remnants that remain on the North side of the Abbey and that the floors of the cloisters were as elaborate as the ceilings!

In the news ✨
Malmesbury is celebrating its rivers with a new month-long festival bringing together art, music and environmental events.

David Drake, co-director of Caerbladon and chair of the Malmesbury Town Team, said: "Malmesbury lies between the Sherston and Tetbury Avons, and it is here that the two rivers converge below St John’s Bridge and the River Avon proper begins.

"Our aim is to engage residents and visitors in activities that celebrate Malmesbury’s wonderful river habitats and raise awareness of river health and mitigating climate impact."
