The Prime Minister further confirmed that the late King has left an heir—a Prince who now assumes the role of King-in-waiting. Details regarding the royal burial and the traditional installation of the new young King will be communicated in due course. King Oyo Nyimba was enthroned as the Omukama of Tooro Kingdom on 12th September 1995, at just three years of age, following the death of his father, Omukama Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III, who passed away at 49. King Oyo was his father’s only son.
