Kumon Standish and Shevington Study Centre in this Kumon Centre students progress at a pace that is tailored to their individual needs.

The Standish and Shevington Kumon Centre offers individualised maths and English study programmes which help children of all ages and abilities to realise their potential. This page is administered by a Kumon franchisee and whilst there may be facts expressed on the page, any opinions given are not necessarily representative of Kumon. By doing some work each day, they improve their English and mat

hs skills, their concentration, and their ability as self-learners and they increase in confidence. English students often start with the rules of grammar and spelling and continue by analysing various texts, and learning a lot of new vocabulary along the way. Maths students may start with number bond practice and progress through fractions to Pythagoras, square roots, linear graphs and quadratic equations. The key to smooth progress with Kumon study is the work that the students complete every day. Once a week this is at the Centre with us, but the rest of the time this is done at home. Having their work marked (answer books provided!), doing their corrections and getting feedback, praise and encouragement at home is a vital part of the students' experience with Kumon. Successful Kumon parents are positive about work that is repeated, and praise their child for each improvement made.

If your New Year’s resolution was to help your child catch up and get ahead, let us help you! Motivation is a great first step, but to keep up change we need to develop habit.

Kumon students develop habit through:
✔️ having a daily study routine
✔️ little and often approach, small changes lead to big results
✔️ developing concentration and focus
✔️ setting goals and reaching them
✔️ daily praise celebrating successes, boosting motivation and confidence
✔️ encouraging patience and perseverance
