MODEL ARAB LEAGUE
What is Model Arab League (MAL)? MAL is a simulation conference where delegates represent various countries of the Arab world and debate issues that are confronting the Arab world today.
2013 Conference
The University of Manchester Arab Society held the MAL conference for the first time in 2013. The universities involved were the Universities of Manchester, Sheffield, York ,
Warwick, Oxford, Liverpool, Cambridge, Cardiff, Westminister, University College London, Kings College London, and Imperial College London. It was a very succesful event discussing the topic of whether the Syrian coalition ought to have a seat in the Arab League, a very heated topic at the time.
2014 Conference
The second conference was a huge success, we were joined by 13 universities across the UK for a 2 day conference. Universities which joined include; Universities of Southampton, Leeds, Liverpool, York, Gasgow, Sheffield, Warwick, Cardiff, Bath, Oxford, Westminister, Swansea, and London School of Economics.
2015 Conference
This will be our 3rd annual conference and we are expecting a larger number of students from a wider range of universities! If you are interested in joining this one of a kind conference, contact us! We will be more than happy to accomodate universities from all around the UK! When will it be held? The event this year will take place on the 21st and the 22nd of February 2015
Who is it for? NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! MAL is for anyone interested and passionate about political and social issues in the Arab world. Who is it hosted by?
