The MoHo apartments on Ellesmere Street 👋🏼

Urban Splash development of prefabricated living pods, required the removal of combustible materials across all facades. H.H. Smith replaced the insulated render with a new non-combustible external wall system, timber decking with A1 rated aluminium, and timber cladding with bespoke aluminium panels, louvre blades and soffit panels, carefully detailed to reflect the original architectural intent.

When newly identified fire safety risks to extraction ductwork and service risers required extensive internal works midway through the programme, residents were decanted in two phases. Each new scope was approved with the Government funding body, Fire Safety Advisor and Building Control, managed through proactive communication and robust programme control.

The outcome is a fully remediated, regulation compliant building that meets the highest standards of life safety and resilience. 7 storeys. 28 months. Full external redecorations reinstating a cohesive and refreshed appearance across the development.

Welcome back to Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital where we are now reaching the final stages of the project. We have now completed the re-roof, with new powder coated aluminium rainwater items/facias and soffits to follow.

Internally we are progressing well with first fix complete, and 2nd fix well on the way. In the coming weeks we have the final paint finishes, floor finishes, new kitchens, W/C sanitary items along with the M&E commissioning process to take us to completion.

Project Update – Earlestown Town Hall

We’re now entering the final stages at Earlestown Town Hall, and it’s great to see the transformation really coming together.

Outside, the new external works are taking shape, including the construction of a new retaining wall along with stepped and ramped access, ensuring easy access is maintained into the courtyard area.

Inside, the restoration works continue to showcase the building’s heritage. Historic plaster repairs, ornate cornice refurbishments and the restoration of the original parquet flooring have all been completed, bringing many of the building’s original features back to life.

With 2nd fix mechanical and electrical installations now well underway across the building, we’re edging ever closer to completion and handover.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their continued hard work and collaboration. We can’t wait to share the finished project in the coming weeks.
