Location and atmosphere matter.
I always look at the whole holiday and not just the hotel.

Two holidays can look almost identical online.

Same destination. Similar hotel rating. Similar price.

But once I start looking properly, the differences usually appear.

Flight times. Transfer. Exact location. Room type. What’s actually nearby. Whether the hotel really suits the way you want to spend the holiday.

Sometimes paying a little more makes a big difference. Sometimes it makes almost none.

That’s the bit I think a good travel agent should help you work out.

If you’ve got two or three holidays open and can’t decide between them, send them over. I’m very happy to give you my view.

A recent client wanted to experience the Deep South properly rather than simply fly in, stay somewhere and fly home.

So the trip became New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville, with Premium Economy flights, three very different hotels, an Amtrak Roomette between New Orleans and Memphis and a luxury coach onwards to Nashville.

Quite a few moving parts, but that’s often where I can be most useful.
