🌻🎬🎺 From sunflowers and cider to cinema, music and photography, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

🌻 PYO Sunflowers at Grange Farm, Somerby
Walk through colourful sunflower paths and enjoy beautiful views across the valley. Open 10am to 3pm - photo ops and ride-on pedal tractors. Entry is £5 per person, under 5s go free. Sunflowers are £1 per stem or 15 stems for £10.

At The Pie Shop on Number 10 Church Street, just steps from St Mary’s Church, Melton’s proud pie-making heritage is celebrated with warmth, flavour and plenty of local character.

On 15 August, enjoy a special Pie Taster Evening with a welcome drink, a selection of Brockleby’s handmade award-winning pies, and stories about the people, ingredients and traditions behind them.

🌅✨ As daylight softens across Frisby Lakes and the evening air grows still, something extraordinary is about to unfold.

On Wednesday 12 August, nature will put on one of its most mesmerising displays as a solar eclipse casts its shadow across the sky. For a few magical moments, the sun, water and horizon will come together to create an experience you'll remember long after the evening ends.

Imagine gliding across the lake as the light changes around you, floating peacefully in the water, pausing to witness a rare celestial event reflected on the surface of the lake.

Whether you choose to paddle, or simply settle by the shore with a coffee from the Lakeside Café, this is your invitation to slow down, look up and be part of something special.

🎶 Skyglow Music Festival arrives in the stunning Belvoir Castle Parklands on 1 August, followed by the family-focused FamFestive on 2 August.

💦 Fancy a day packed with laughter and adventure? Head to March House Farm, race down the UK's longest Slip & Slide, tackle the Maize Maze and enjoy a summer day filled with outdoor fun and fresh air.

🦖 If your household includes a dinosaur enthusiast, Twinlakes' Dino Week is guaranteed to be a hit. Until 9 August, prehistoric creatures and roarsome surprises bring the world of dinosaurs to life.

🎪 Cirquoise returns and brings circus magic to Gates Garden Centre until 16 August, combining breathtaking performances with family entertainment.

🦒 Go wild this summer at Belvoir Castle's Summer Safari! Follow the clues, meet friendly farm animals, explore the adventure playground and earn a free ice cream at the end of the trail.

🎨 For younger creatives, the Kick Up The Arts Family-Friendly Drop-In Session offers the chance to get hands-on, get messy and let imaginations run wild.

🔎 And from this Saturday, budding detectives can head to Makers Mill House at Wymondham Windmill for the free Mystery Makers Trail. Packed with clues, puzzles and creativity, it's the perfect excuse for a summer day out.

This weekend, Melton Mowbray is alive with music, food, culture and celebration, with plenty of reasons to step out, slow down and enjoy a summer day out.

🍺🥧 Pie & Spirit Fest returns to the Stockyard on 1 & 2 August, bringing together award-winning pies, artisan spirits and plenty of local flavour.

🎻 Melton Folk Festival, hosted by Melton Folk Club, will fill venues across town on 1 & 2 August, celebrating live music, storytelling and community spirit.

🎶 On 1 August, don't miss the Soulshine Summer Socials Closing Party in the Event Village. From 2pm until 10pm, enjoy a fantastic late afternoon and evening of music and good vibes at this free event.

🛍️Browse handmade treasures and unique gifts at the Craft Fair at St John's Church Hall on 1 August.

🎷World-class jazz in an unexpected place, discover one of Melton's hidden cultural gems.

In the heart of rural Leicestershire, Burrough Jazz has been quietly creating something special. This not-for-profit organisation brings professional jazz musicians to local audiences, proving that world-class live music isn't just found in city venues.

This season offers another fantastic line-up, beginning with acclaimed vocalist Jo Harrop and guitarist Jamie McCreadie on 25 July, followed by the Sam Braysher Quartet on 4 September, Danny Lowndes' Hot Club Band on 13 November, and a festive finale with Bing and the Roxy Dots on 12 December.

Whether you're a lifelong jazz lover or simply looking for a memorable night out, Burrough Jazz offers an intimate experience where every note feels personal and every performance tells a story. 🎶
