Join us on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th May as Melton Mowbray transforms into a living tribute to the 1940s. Experience the sights and sounds of the era with vintage vehicles, live music, period fashion, living displays, cinema and vintage funfair throughout the town and parks.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, love a good jive, or simply want a unique day out, this much-loved event promises nostalgia, atmosphere and plenty of fun for all.

Apple blossom is in full bloom at Cidentro Orchard & Cidery, perfectly timed with British Cider Week – and you’re invited to enjoy it with one of their popular orchard tours and cider tastings.
Take a guided walk through the orchard, learn about traditional cider making, and enjoy a tasting of Cidentro’s handcrafted ciders in a beautiful spring setting.

🐉 St George’s Day Parade in Melton 🐉

Melton Mowbray will come alive this Sunday, 26th April with a wonderful community parade featuring Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders from across the Melton District – plus St George, proudly pulled along by Melton Round Table.

📍 Parade starts at 1pm

The parade will leave Thorpe End, travel along Sherrard Street, pass through Market Place and arrive at St Mary’s Church.

⛪ A Service of Celebration will take place at 1.30pm in St Mary’s Church.
🚶‍♂️ The return parade sets off at 2.30pm, following the same route in reverse.

Come along, line the streets and support this fantastic local tradition celebrating community and Scouting in Melton.

🌟Have you ever wondered where the phrase “painting the town red” really comes from? In Melton Mowbray, the rumour isn’t just colourful – it’s legendary. 🎨

It all began on the 6th April 1837, when the notorious Marquis of Waterford and his band of high-spirited aristocratic friends rolled into town after a day at the races. Fuelled by drink and mischief, they grabbed pots of red paint and went on a riotous spree through the streets, daubing tollgates, signs and even a constable in bright crimson. Their antics left a scarlet trail – and a story that has echoed through history ever since.
