And that’s a wrap! First Tuesday Market Tour of The Stockyard Melton Mowbray done and dusted. Lovely to take these guests and show them the workings of Melton’s historic livestock market as well as introducing them to the traders of the Farmer’s Market.

Highlights today definitely included the fresh and refreshing sweetcorn and ginger egg drop soup from , made with corn harvested from Jenny’s allotment just last night!

Melton’s Tuesday market is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and was officially recognised in 1324. If you want to see how this thousand year old institution is adapting and thriving in the 21st century, come on our weekly tour. Starts at 10am, two hours long, £40 pp. To book, check the link in bio.

In town today and avoiding the heat, popped into a lovely new addition to Melton Mowbray’s food scene - the Radiant Lotus Cafe.

Scones, coffee, amazing cold drinks, all with owner Illa Khagram’s signature touches blending her Asian background with British baking culture.

The cardamom and pistachio scones are really gorgeous. They’re vegan, but I didn’t notice until Illa told me.

And I couldn’t resist grabbing some of their tasty samosas and East African influenced lentil and gram flour bhajia (you get three samosas, but the other two vanished before I got home ...).

Looking forward to dropping in with the tour on Saturday and seeing what our guests make of it.

A great tour in Lincoln yesterday Pam hosted two families who had members who’d previously studied in Lincoln and had decided to re-visit, spending a weekend in the city with our walking food tour as the centerpiece.

Started at Seven Districts Coffee Houses in the Bailgate, and ended at La Bella Di Casa in the Cornhill Market, with a gelato masterclass from the wonderful Antonio. And loads of lovely food and drink in between.

If you’re heading to Lincoln during the summer, get in touch to find out more about our unique and original walking food tour - the best way to find out about this gorgeous and historic city

Absolutely brilliant day showing this excellent group of lovely people around Nottingham today. The sun was shining, Pride was in full swing, and everyone loved the food and drink - Piccalilli Nottingham was a highlight as always, and new stop Biscuit & Brew was also great.

One of the things we love most about doing our tours is the guests - always open and interested, and always lovely.

If you fancy a walking food tour of Nottingham (or Lincoln or Melton Mowbray) tasting the best food and drink the East Midlands has to offer with really friendly people, then please get in touch. Link in bio.
