If I was Microsoft and Google, I would be super worried right now. The MacBook Neo could be the laptop of the year — if not the decade — in terms of pure value. For just $599, users get pretty much everything they need from a notebook in terms of everyday performance and endurance in a thin, light and colorful design.

Yes, there's trade-offs here. Like the lack of a backlit keyboard. And you need to pay extra for Touch ID. But overall I think there's going to be a ton of people gravitating towards this laptop, especially with the back to school crowd. Yup, this could definitely be one of the best laptops you can buy. Suddenly, Chromebooks and mid-range Windows laptops look a lot less attractive.

I have got a couple of second hand units in the shop for sale.

Firstly I have a 2015 13" MacBook Pro , running Mac OS Monterey and with 256gb of strorage. Nice little cheap unit for £120

And also I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" 2.6GHz i7 512gb storage 16gb ram for £395 - running the latest version of Mac OSX (in fact same spec as MY laptop)

Be quick as these will go in no time due to their affordability ( £120 one) and their ability to run the latest Apple OS ( the 16" one)

I’m not sure if you all know what I do when I’m not fixing computers but I teach Karate and have done for many years.

As you know I really do not ever like to overcharge for my services and in karate I really don’t either so my dojo operates on fairly break even to get people in through the door.

Currently we are running a campaign for new mats for our Dojo so I’m reaching out to see if anyone could help in any way by donating to our crowdfunder on the links below.

PLEASE LOOK AT OUR CROWDFUNDER campaign for NEW mats for the Dojo. We are getting so close to our target now and just need the final push with your help.

As many of you know the Dojo runs at fairly zero profit basis as the rent for the space we occupy is horrendous (good old landlords) and we even have to pay massive business rates too.

Our Mats in the Dojo are getting close to 6 years old now and with the constant heavy cleaning in the Covid years (and since) have diminished the mats in the space.

While this space allows us to train properly and safely, it also means we don’t have the turnover to cover large one-off costs like new mats without putting pressure on our members or increasing fees — something we want to avoid. That’s why we’re asking for help.

How the Money Will Be Spent. Every pound raised will go directly towards:

Purchasing new, high-quality martial arts mats
Improving safety and comfort for all training sessions
Ensuring the dojo remains fit for regular classes, seminars, and visiting practitioners
If any money is left over it will be invested in equipment for the Dojo to benefit all.
There are no hidden costs and no profit — this is purely about reinvesting back into the dojo and its future for all the Martial Arts clubs that use our hollowed space.
