✈️ Travelling to Europe this summer? 🇪🇺

A quick heads-up about the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES), which is now in operation for UK travellers entering and leaving participating European countries.

What does this mean for you?

📸 On your first trip, you’ll be asked to register your biometric details (a facial photo and fingerprint scan).

⏳ This may mean longer queues at immigration, particularly during peak travel periods such as school holidays and weekends.

📱 If you’ve booked a private transfer, make sure your phone is switched on when you land and keep your transfer supplier’s emergency contact details handy in case immigration delays affect your arrival time.

🛫 For both outbound and return journeys, we recommend arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before departure and allowing extra time for border checks.

✅ Once registered, your details will usually remain valid for 3 years, making future entries into Europe quicker and easier.

ℹ️ EES is separate from ETIAS, the EU travel authorisation scheme, which is expected to launch later in 2026.
