Its quiet tranquillity and the utter peace soothe the soul and rest the senses. Surrounded by woodland, hills, moors and sea, Ardmaddy is also a haven for wildlife - from eagles soaring above the hills, to skylarks

singing their hearts out, from deer grazing on the hillsides, to otters hunting by the shore - there is so much here for you to see and experience. The Estate is also a perfect base for walking, cycling, seakayaking, sailing, bird watching, touring, or just having a rest. We are dog-friendly, too, so ideal for those of you who love to bring ALL the family. Our cottages all have open log fires for you to cosy up to at the end of the day and all are centrally heated and fully equipped to make your stay comfortable. One thing we never tire of here is talking about the weather! That's because it's different every day. The first picture was yesterday morning and the second was this morning. We love those blue sky days and don't take them for granted.

Today we were back to some sunshine, but with a rather stiff northerly wind. At least we didn't need full waterproofs.

Friday and Saturday were rather wet up here, to say the least. Many of you who have been here before will be familiar with the little waterfall and deep pool as you go over the bridge on the way to Caddleton and The Stables. This was the same waterfall on Friday after hours of pouring rain.

As forecast, the weather was awful today. I imagine a few games were played, jigsaws put together and naps were had on the sofas in the cottages. It did brighten up for a little while, when I ventured out again for an afternoon walk with the dogs. And even when the view is shrouded, there is something to be seen close at hand.

Another lovely day here though I believe tomorrow is to be wet. A walk out to the little point today to enjoy the views ...
