🚢 NEW ROYAL CARIBBEAN ITINERARIES! 🚢

The Europe 2028–29 programme opens for bookings TODAY, 15 October — and there’s plenty to get excited about! 🤩

☀️ For the first time, Royal Caribbean will offer YEAR-ROUND European cruising, with winter escapes to the Canary Islands, Madeira and Morocco!

Seven ships will be exploring Europe, with sailings from 3 to 12 nights:

🇬🇧 Freedom of the Seas — sailing from Southampton, May–October 2028! Choose from 3–9 nights exploring the Norwegian fjords or destinations including Copenhagen, Bruges, Bilbao and Lisbon.

🇬🇷 Rhapsody of the Seas — summer adventures visiting Greece, Türkiye and Egypt, including selected overnight stays in Istanbul and Alexandria, followed by winter sunshine sailings.

🇭🇷 Explorer of the Seas — seven-night cruises from Ravenna, exploring the Greek Islands and Croatia, with selected visits to Kotor.

🇸🇪 Jewel of the Seas — Scandinavia and the Baltics, sailing from Copenhagen and Stockholm.

🇪🇸 Liberty of the Seas — seven and eight-night Mediterranean and Greek Islands adventures from Barcelona, Athens and Rome.

🇵🇹 Mariner of the Seas — seven-night Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona, Lisbon, Athens and Ravenna.

🇮🇹 Odyssey of the Seas — seven-night Greek Isles cruises from Rome, including destinations such as Mykonos and Ephesus.

I’m particularly excited to see those Southampton options — and having Royal Caribbean in Europe through the winter gives us even more choice! 💙

🚢 Day 4

12,000 steps today… our feet definitely know we’ve been sightseeing! 🤣

We took a hop-on hop-off bus tour, with buses waiting right outside the ship. There were two companies—City Sightseeing and City Hop On Hop Off—with the same stops on their maps.

I’d pre-booked through my Viator link and saved £7 each, but you could also pay as you boarded. Plenty of buses were waiting, so it was really easy! 🚌

Our Royal Caribbean stop was 6B. A tip for those visiting on smaller ships:like P&O aurora she was bus stop 8. It’s a little confusing with 3 cruise ports.

Between the bus and our wandering, we enjoyed exploring, souvenir shopping and a hunt for brown cheese to go with our Norwegian cheese slicers! 🧀😂

We also passed the statue of Wenche Foss outside the National Theatre—a much-loved Norwegian actress and singer, looking ready to take her applause! 🎭

The temperature dropped today and that wind was VERY fresh on our faces! A coffee and sandwich in a local café overlooking the park was a welcome chance to warm up. ☕🥪

By the time we got back onboard, we were freezing and absolutely pooped. No dressing up tonight—just comfy clothes, buffet tea in the Windjammer and sponge and custard! 😋

Then Love & Marriage… BEST SHOW OF THE WEEK!! 💕🤣 A fabulous finish to our Oslo day!

🇳🇴 Day 3: Stavanger!

Breakfast onboard and then off for a wander around Stavanger 😊

A lovely day exploring the cobbled streets, browsing the little shops and stopping for coffee ☕ Those cakes in the counter certainly caught our attention! 🍰🤣

We spotted a few interesting characters along the way, including Johanna and her little brother — two children from local stories — and a statue of shipping businessman Sigval Bergesen. We even found the peace footprints around the harbour… and, of course, a Norwegian troll! 🧌📸

Back onboard, we popped into Johnny Rockets for burgers and fries 🍔🍟 Even our ketchup had a smile!

An afternoon nap then a quick change into our White Night outfits 🤍 and the obligatory mirror selfie before dinner.

It was Italian Night in the main dining room, so our evening had a little Italian flavour with minestrone, beef carpaccio, lasagne and tiramisu 🇮🇹🍝

Sorento’s Pizza, nightcap and a 2nd lift check in to finish the day, and that’s Day 3 wrapped up! 🥃

Next stop… Oslo! More adventures tomorrow 🚢🇳🇴

🚢 Day 2 ✨

A lovely Sunday at sea with brunch in the dining room, free mini massage tasters, manicures and photo shoots! 💅📸

We missed our first quiz because we were in the wrong bar… at the wrong end of the ship! 🙈 The cheeky scones and jam made that better. 🤣

We spent an hour figuring out that sometimes you have to go DOWN a few decks, walk across, then go back UP to reach the deck you wanted! Still trying to brave the stairs instead of using every lift… wish us luck! 😂🚶‍♀️

Our first Johnny Rockets milkshake went down a treat, then it was time to get our sparkly dresses on for dinner. 🥤✨

French onion and creamy butternut squash soups, herb-crusted salmon, then THREE desserts!
Apple cobbler with ice cream, cappuccino chocolate cake and dark chocolate cookies. Of the three, Auntie Pauline’s homemade cookie ice cream sandwich was definitely the winner! 🍪🍦🤣

Tonight’s show celebrated the Doobie Brothers, Chicago and some 70s favourites, performed by the Liberty of the Seas orchestra and the cast of Saturday Night Fever. 🎶🪩

We finished with a nightcap in the Star Lounge, listening to The Dukes live band. A lovely end to a day of treats, laughs and getting lost! 🥂

Next stop… Stavanger! 🇳🇴💙

Our first evening onboard and we’ve already packed plenty in! 🥂

We enjoyed the Royal Favourites menu in the main dining room, followed by Boots & Blades, the country-themed ice skating show. Absolutely fabulous — the skill of those skaters! 🤠⛸️

Then a little shopping in the sales before finishing the evening with karaoke in the Star Bar and some 60s, 70s and 80s fun! 🎤🪩

And just like that, the lift carpet has changed from Saturday to Sunday… our little reminder of which day it is! 😂👣

A lovely start to our cruise together. Norway, we’re on our way! 🇳🇴💙

Is the drink package cheaper to book on board.

Honestly, no!

We paid £48 per person per day 6 months ago during one of Royals sales. They happen all the time.
If you bought today on board you’d pay $186 per day for 2 adults sharing a cabin!

🕶️🚢 I’VE GOT A NEW TOY FOR THIS CRUISE! 😂

I’ve treated myself to a pair of Meta smart glasses!

And there’s a very good reason…

I want to take you all sightseeing around Norway with me, without spending the whole time holding my phone in front of my face!

The glasses can record short videos of whatever I’m looking at, so hopefully you’ll get to see Stavanger, Oslo and Liberty of the Seas exactly as I see them.

🇳🇴💷 DO YOU REALLY NEED TO BOOK CRUISE EXCURSIONS IN NORWAY?

That’s something I’m going to put to the test next week.

We’ve got:

⚓ Stavanger
⚓ Oslo — including an overnight stay

And I’ve deliberately been looking at what we can do independently from the ship.

👟 Walking
🆓 Free attractions
📸 Sightseeing
🚌 Local transport
🍺 The odd refreshment stop 😂
💷 And paying for things ourselves when we think they’re genuinely worth it.

Now before somebody catches me out…

YES. WE’VE ALREADY CHEATED! 😂

I’ve bought Hop-On Hop-Off bus tickets for Oslo. 🚌

But that’s exactly the point.

This isn’t Norway for £0.

It’s about showing that you don’t automatically have to book an expensive organised excursion every time you step off a cruise ship.

I’m going to keep track of what we spend and show you how easy — or difficult! — everything actually is.

And in Stavanger we’re planning to explore largely on foot straight from Liberty.

So we’re calling this little experiment…
