Sick of getting these messages from my website that start off by saying 'I'm really sorry for bothering you' so the reply they get is this :

If you are REALLY sorry for bothering me I have a very simple solution.... 'DON'T' 🤣'

Some absolute idiots on the road this morning who have no idea!
Too close even for dry conditions never mind the rain.
Also many with no idea how to drive through standing water that covers the road.
This is particularly meant for the young female in the mini that came charging through heading towards Whittington from Gobowen.
And also the idiot that followed her through in the range rover while I was passing slowly at the white line where the water is shallower.

Vehicles in gear but brains in neutral!

The DVSA are lifting COVID-19 restrictions affecting driving and theory tests in England from Tuesday 1 March in line with the government announcement that English restrictions ended on 24 February.

The changes in England are:

• face coverings will be a personal choice for practical and theory test candidates and examiners
• driving tests will no longer end early unless the candidate’s driving is so poor it is a risk to their safety and that of other road users - in line with the pre-COVID-19 policy
• instructors and accompanying drivers are able to sit in on driving tests
• you no longer have to self isolate if you have COVID-19, but we encourage you to rearrange your test if you feel unwell for any reason

DVSA guidance on GOV.UK will be updated shortly.

Due to the relaxing of these rules I have decided to make face coverings on lessons a personal choice from Tuesday 1st March 2022

Pupil safety for lessons with Ian’s Driving School during the presence of Covid-19.

Prior to the lesson

i will contact you and ask you to confirm that neither you or anyone in your household has or have had any symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 7 days or have been in contact with someone who has or has had within the last 14 days.
If you have, your lesson will be cancelled. Remember even if you feel fine, you could be one of the many people who don’t show any symptoms.

If i can’t contact you then i will ask you to confirm this from a safe distance before entering the car.

Please make sure you have washed your hands immediately prior to the lesson.

I will meet you to discuss the lesson outside of the car.

PPE.

You must bring and wear a face covering during driving lessons.
I will also do the same.
You may if you wish wear disposable gloves, in which case put them on just before entering the car.
i will also wear gloves should you wish me to do so.

the vehicle will be cleaned in advance of your lesson using anti-viral spray and or wipes to clean the passenger door handles inside and outside, the dashboard and any other touch points (e.g. steering wheel, sat nav, mirror).

If you are a new pupil, you will be asked to hold up your provisional driving licence so i can check it.

Lesson Payments

Ideally arrange for payments to be made electronically prior to the lesson through direct bank transfer.
Ask me for Bank details at least the day before the lesson.
if this is not possible then please bring the correct cash in an envelope

During the lesson

To reduce the risk during the lesson, I will hold up any visual aids or training resources, instead of passing them between the two of us.
no devices or pens etc are to be shared.

Please keep your mobile phone and keys and any other personal property in your pockets and not in the vehicle storage area’s.

I will open windows during the lesson to make sure the vehicle is ventilated sufficiently, so please dress accordingly.
Air conditioning cannot be used.

should we need to stop at the roadside to discuss any aspect of the drive then this will be done outside of the car.

After the lesson

Please keep on any PPE until you have exited the car and dispose of safely yourself.

Note

Should you have any questions about the above policy then please contact me.

Booking or turning up for a lesson will be taken as acceptance of the above.

Thank you for your support and understanding during these difficult times

Hello,

I have decided to resume driving lessons from Monday 13 th July .
I could have started on the 4th or the 6th , however my last day with the AA is the 8th and I'm looking to get my new car that week .
So the 13th is a more convenient choice.
If you would like to book a lesson for that week or beyond please get back to me with your availability as I'm getting a lot of interest and enquiries !
I hope to update you shortly on the PPE situation for lessons.

Many thanks, Ian
