The new EU Entry/Exit System is now live (from 12th October 2025).
If you’re heading to Europe, you’ll now need to give fingerprints and a photo the first time you enter the Schengen Area — but don’t worry, it’s valid for 3 years, and replaces passport stamps!

No forms or fees required
Applies to most EU/Schengen countries (not Ireland or Cyprus)
Allow a little extra time at borders while the system settles in
