HAPPY EASTER 🐣 - Westminster Abbey (pictured).

DID YOU KNOW: Westminster Abbey contains Portland stone, most notably in the iconic West Towers, which were built between 1722 and 1745 by Nicholas Hawksmoor and John James. Additionally, Portland stone is used in the upper parts of the West Front and in repairs to other areas, such as the cloisters.

Radical new proposals could see toll booths installed on Portland Beach Road, charging motorists £4 per vehicle to enter the Isle of Portland.

Supporters of the scheme have likened the proposed charge to the Sandbanks ferry, arguing it could help manage heavy seasonal traffic and generate local revenue. However, critics are already branding the move a 'tax on locals', sparking fears about the impact on daily commuters, businesses, and the tourism sector that rely on the island's single access road.
