The luxurious Manvar Desert Camp & Resort located halfway between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer was an ideal base for our exploration of the vibrant life in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan.

We had great fun in the rugged four wheel jeep, met local people like this old Rajput man with his beautiful turban and learned lots about the culture of the local tribes on the adventurous desert drive organised by Manvar. The safari was one of our highlights on our Rajasthan circuit with Myles.

Recently we asked you where Jodhpur’s “Blue City” got its nickname from... It is commonly thought that it was the Brahmins who began painting their houses blue to set them apart from other castes and signify their status. Despite the weakening of the caste system the tradition has stayed alive and most locals will tell you that the blue color keeps the houses cool during the hot summers in Jodhpur.

Unfolding-maps recently visited Jodhpur’s Blue City on a Rajasthan circuit with Myles. We stayed in the beautiful royal heritage fort hotel Rohet Garh - Luxury Heritage Hotel (Jodhpur) just 45 minutes south of Jodhpur. Our night at Khimsar Dunes Village (Sand Dunes Village , Khimsar) was truly magical. Nestled amidst golden sand dunes and located by a mini-lake this remote eco-friendly village is a true oasis and an excellent escape from the maddening crowds of the bustling cities of Rajasthan. Each of the luxury huts is unique and beautifully decorated with local crafts and materials.

Khimsar Dunes Villages is located just 15 minutes from Khimsar and made for an excellent break on our trip with Myles between Jodhpur and Jaipur.

is a destination which is often overlooked by travelers. The city is not only home to some unique architecture but also known for its markets and amazing food. Unfolding-maps and Myles at super chaotic Bikaner spice bazar that had a distinct flavour and character.

We stayed at the beautiful Bhanwar Niwas (Rampuria Haveli) Bikaner in the heart of the old city.

The city of is known for its majestic forts and palaces. Built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD Amer Fort is one of the most famous forts in India. We visited Amer Fort on our circuit with Myles

Lisbon is known as a sunny city and one of the things that most make it unique is not just being the European capital with the most sunshine hours per year but also the fact that’s it’s the only one where the sun sets in the ocean. Lisbon has literally dozens of viewpoints, and everyone has their favorite. Unfolding-maps was at praca do comercio in Lisbon and experienced a beautiful sunset despite the cloudy and rainy weather.
