Nomadic Tours team successfully reaching the summit of Mt Toubkal (4167m) on 12.08.26. We had a great team at the refuge looking after us, then Ahmad and Brahim leading us to the summit. The legs are still burning but what a sense of achievement. Thanks Team Nomadic!

Watched Christopher Nolan’s movie The Odyssey yet? Morocco features in a few scenes and you will not be surprised that Ait Benhaddou was one of them. Such an amazing backdrop to be used for the ancient city of Troy.

Update from Jarjeer Donkey Refuge - a permanent home for over 300 donkeys, mules and horses in Marrakech.
They passionately believe in equality and care for the most vulnerable in society and that includes both humans and animals. They currently employ 22 people which during the pandemic was very important as we maintained 14 families in the local village who in turn shared their resources with neighbours. They also buy wheat locally which has resulted in local people remaining at home to grow wheat rather than having to travel into Marrakech for labouring work. They have become the biggest consumers of animal food in the area and have been fortunate to maintain very good relations with local people. The staff are magnificent and show incredible skill and kindness towards the animals. They enjoy the services of a local vet who is compassionate and supportive. Many visitors have been upset by what they see as animal abuse in the cities and are heartened to visit a place of peace and calm where Moroccans are working in absolute tranquillity with the animals.
