Although it was mainly families, I was surprised to see that there were quite a lot of couples on-board who were not travelling with children and for many of them it was a repeat Disney cruise. I do miss the classic 'Wish you were here' holiday show, how good was that each week with Judith Charmers..Actually surprised that we don't have more holiday programmes on, seeing that holidays are a huge proportion of what people spend their money on...I can not be the only one who loved this show??!!??

Wow, I can tell that Christmas is a far distant memory and that people are now thinking about their summer holidays! January and February have been really busy for me which is great and I have been helping lots of customers with their holidays. Italy seems really popular this year and I have booked some lovely holidays to Tuscany, the Italian Lakes and Sicily. I have also booked an amazing, luxury safari trip to Zambia, a group of teenagers to Zante for their first holiday abroad without their parents (brings back memories!), a fantastic Disney Cruise around the Mediterannean and an exciting escorted trip in China, amongst other wonderful holidays. I booked a business trip to Glasgow for one of my customers and the poor man has had a nightmare! Firstly he arrives at the airport yesterday morning and realises that he has left his passport at home and has no other form of photo ID on him. The airline would not allow him to travel for security reasons, therefore my customer had to miss his early morning flight and we rescheduled it for later that day. He went back to his car and found his photo ID, which did at least save him the hassle of having to drive back home. He rearranged his meetings in Scotland for later that day and landed into Glasgow 5 hours later than he had originally planned. I had booked him an overnight stay as he had further meetings in the morning. I had a phone call from him at 6:30 this morning to say that he had lost all of his documents for his return flight home. I sleepily got out of bed to switch on my computer and email a copy of the boarding pass to him. He also told me that he had lost his room key the night before. The poor man is not having the best of trips! It is a definite advantage working from home as my customers can contact me any time, day or night, if they need to. What other Travel Agents could you ring at 6:30 in the morning with a query?! It might be a good time to point out though, if you call me at 3am in the morning you may not get the same level of efficiency that I would normally provide – I will give it my best shot though! Hope my customer’s flight home goes without a hitch!

Most of you will be aware of the proposed industrial action on Wednesday 30th November by most public sector workers. It has been confirmed that staff at the UK Border Agency will also be on strike. This may result in some disruption at the airports. Fortunately, I don't have any customers scheduled to fly tomorrow. However, if you or anyone you know is flying tomorrow and would like any advice or updates please let me know.
