✨ A busy Sunday at Brightpath Contact ✨

We’ve been spending today meeting with new clients, listening to their individual circumstances and discussing how Brightpath can support them.

One thing that keeps coming up? Flexibility.

For many families, standard 9–5 arrangements many services offer, simply don’t work particularly where parents are working, have childcare commitments or have other responsibilities around contact.

That’s why we’re taking the time to understand what each family needs and looking at flexible arrangements that work around their circumstances, while keeping the focus firmly on the child and maintaining safe, professional contact.

It’s been brilliant to meet and speak to new families and talk through the different services Brightpath can offer, and we’re really looking forward to supporting more families across Teesside. 💙

✨Exciting things are happening at Brightpath Contact ✨

We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible feedback and support Brightpath Contact has received since launching and we’re so excited to share that things are moving forward.

One of the developments we’re particularly proud of is our work with local family hubs and local play cafes, exploring opportunities to provide supervised contact spaces where, following risk assessment, community venues or the family home may not be appropriate at that time.

We know that finding the right environment for children and families can sometimes be challenging. Our aim is to help provide a professional, child-centred alternative when additional structure, supervision or a more suitable setting is required.

This is an exciting step for Brightpath and another part of our wider vision to make high-quality, flexible family support more accessible across Teesside. 💙

💛Making Contact Fit Around Family Life💛

At Brightpath Contact, we understand that any family life doesn’t always fit neatly into the traditional working day.

For some parents and children, there can be a very small window between finishing school, finishing work, travelling to and from arrangements and actually having meaningful family time.

And sometimes, despite everyone’s best intentions, contact centres and other services can’t offer the flexibility needed because of the practical time constraints of the working day, availability and capacity.

This can mean children and parents waiting longer than anyone would want for contact to get up and running particularly when everyone is ready and willing for contact to take place and all other options have been explored.

We focus on providing evening and weekend contact, helping create more flexible opportunities for children to spend time with their parents and maintain important family relationships.

At Brightpath Contact, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, comfortable and supported.

That’s why, before any supervised contact begins, we arrange a meet and greet with parents and children whenever possible.

This gives everyone the opportunity to:
✨ Meet the contact supervisor in a relaxed environment.
✨ Ask any questions about how sessions will work.
✨ Help children become familiar with the person who will be supporting them.
✨ Discuss any individual needs, routines or concerns.
✨ Ensure everyone feels prepared before the first contact session.

There’s something special about contact in the community. 💙

Whitby never disappoints. Fresh sea air, sandcastles on the beach, a few 2p machines, an ice cream on the pier and lots of smiles along the way. It doesn’t have to be expensive to create meaningful memories together.
