Be Your Adventures - Events Check our events page for more fabulous cycling events in 2023 It's now 13 years ago since I went on my first real adventure.

After only having ridden a mountain bike for short distances, I decided to take on a charity challenge to ride across the mountains of Northern Vietnam. It was the adventure that changed my life! I discovered that I was made of much stronger stuff than I ever realised, and that almost anything is possible if you can find the desire to make it happen. Since that journey, I have continued searching

for adventure, and this has taken me all around the world. But my strength wasn't only found in cycling, it began to affect all areas of my life. You might know me as Marcia Roberts. In 2020 I set out to be the first woman to ride from Lands End to John O'Groats and back again, setting the women's FKT (Fastest Known Time). Here at Be Your Adventures, we encourage you to search out new adventures. Life is an adventure, and so we ask you not only to have an adventure, but to BE YOUR ADVENTURE as well. On our events page, we will promote events that will help you on your way. Some will be physical challenges, others will be talks and webinars. At their heart though will be movement. So whether you are a cyclist, runner, hiker, swimmer just want to move more, you are sure to find something that you can enjoy. Like, follow and share our page, and lets spread the movement.

🚴‍♀️ Calling all women who love adventure on two wheels! 🌟

This bikepacking adventure is woman-led, and I’d love to see more women take on the challenge in 2026. Our previous female riders have been nothing short of incredible — whether they rode solo or teamed up with others, they showed grit, community, and an inspiring high finish rate. 🙌💪

If you’re curious what it’s really like, check out the reviews from women who’ve already ridden — they share honest insights, huge achievements, and their amazing adventures the trails. ✨

If you’re thinking about entering, have questions, or just want to chat it through, please feel free to drop me a private message or pop a comment below. I’m here to help, encourage, and support more women into ultra cycling — you’ve absolutely got this. 💜

Let’s make this year the strongest female field yet. Who’s in? 👇🔥

Next to finish were our first night time arrivals.

* 5 & 6 - Charlie Kennedy & Peter Belcher. They arrived together at just after 9:30 pm having ridden together for about half the ride. Peter had a few bike issues and Charlie was his Good Samaritan. After that they stuck together. Charlie’s partner came to greet him with the best welcome back. Flowers, fizz and a brilliant sign - just perfect.
* 7 & 8 - Jack Horlick & Julian Mills rode through the darkness to finish just after 3am. They had a great ride, but were ready to hit the hotel to sleep.
* 9 - Colin Deady arrived shortly after, just before 4am, having knocked over 10 hours from his previous best, and a massive 31 hours off his first attempt. This time he rode a full-sus bike, which he said was a dream on the rougher sections of the route.
I hope they all get a good rest, and maybe come out to see some of the Sunday finishers return.
Well done guys

Our first 4 riders to arrive in daylight were
* 1- Ian To, who arriving just after 6 am beat the previous course record by over 3 hours completing in 47 hrs 39 mins. A record that I expect could stand for a while
* 2 James Benson-king who arrived just after 9am with a total time of 50 hrs & 33 mins. He also beat the previous fastest time.
* 3 Angus Buchanan, who arrived at lunchtime with a time of 54 hrs & 14 mins, despite nursing a poorly derailleur for the whole ride.
* 4 Wesley Burden who is a returning rider arrived mid afternoon with a time of 58 hrs & 8 mins.

Fabulous rides from them all, now heading home for sleep.

Check tomorrow to see who keeps me awake and comes in through the night. Check .cc for a fuller reports.

🚴🏼‍♀️ Closing date extended to Wednesday 8pm.🚴🏼‍♀️
We have a few places left, so have extended our closing date to 3rd April.
In addition, as a woman led event, I’d really love to see more women taking part in ultra events like these, so from now until entries close tomorrow, any women entering can claim a 20% discount. DM me for the discount code.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much exhausted joy on the face of two riders as these two.
was our first tourist back at 22:23 Sunday night, only a couple of hours shy of a challenge pace ride. He had the best time just soaking up the beauty and fun of the route.
And then at 01:04, rolled on in after a late start from Petersfield.
With Rochester strangely quiet & closed on Sunday night, I brought the celebratory beers to them. There really is nothing quite like sitting on a park bench by a castle in the middle of the night drinking beer and soaking up the enormity of what they had achieved.
It was a brilliant ride by both gents, a couple of our more mature riders too - proving that despite being a really tough ride, it’s perfectly possible to achieve if you pick the right event to enter.

Sunday finishers started to roll in mid afternoon, with all having opted to stop in Petersfield before a stop to the finish. The Premiere Inn must have wondered what was going on as some were rolling out, just as others were arriving in the small hours of Sunday morning.
was first through at 15:10, and was greeted by other members of who rode from their various homes in Kent to cheer him in. His body is suffering, he’s a broken man (at least for tonight), but it wasa typically strong performance for someone used to dealing with this kind of ride.
The next finisher, Andy Ross, kept the pressure on for the whole ride, and was less than an hour later. He arrived at 16:07, with his family awaiting.
Just 40 minutes behind him was Pete Worsfold at 16:47, who looked very relieved it was all over. who rode the spring edition was there with Darcy, the cutest pup ever, to great him. I guess there will be a lot of comparison of their routes when they digest their achievements….once Pete has the capacity to speak again.
Last but not least came .thurgood, who after leaving his dad at Petersfield, smashed the last section in superfast time to get in at 17:37.

Considering the difficulty of this event, the standard of the riding has been incredible. Anyone who finishes this event, needs a huge amount of respect, and those that can finish by Sunday are machines.
I’ll be back in the morning to report back on the overnight arrivals…..The tourist group are on their way.

The final arrivals for Saturday were Hugo and Daniele. They had been riding close to each other, or in a group for most of the event. Certainly when it came to overnight stops, they deployed a bit a teamwork (along with Seb who sadly scratched at Dorking). made a push to the end arriving at 22:21, to find his mum waiting at the castle for him with beer. Less than an hour later arrived at 23:01, looking like he was ready to sleep for a week. But with a beer in hand he headed to the train station to see if he could jump on the last train back to London.
These guys were such fun every time I bumped into them along the way, and although didn’t plan to ride together, they were clearly supporting each other along the way, even when they went off and did their own thing.

Next in early on Saturday evening was at 18:27. He was tired, but pretty happy. He opted to bunk in a hotel in Wi******er on Friday night, and then a good push to the finish, a strategy that worked really well for him.
wasn’t far behind, having stopped just before Wi******er on Friday night, having googled where he might find a covered shelter. In the end a church porch with a warm mat in t was the perfect stop. He arrived in 5th at 19:14.
It was a really solid and consistent ride for these guys who proved that you can still finish this on the Saturday, and get a bit of sleep along the way.

Our first 3 finisher started rolling across the line at 10:14 yesterday morning.
kept me on my toes through the early hours of Saturday morning as I tried to get ahead of him through the Hampshire section. Sadly, 5 mins after he left me at Hindhead, he hit a hole on the descent out of Devils Punchbowl for a rather nasty crash. He still rode on, despite a quite possibly nasty shoulder injury, and finished first. I had no idea until the end!
He had no time to nurse his injuries on the route as kept the pressure on, never being more than 1.5 hours behind him. In the end, he crossed just 40 mins behind at 10:54.
A celebratory drink was drunk, then he went off to watch Rugby for the afternoon.
Next up was our first woman finisher, . 2023 is her first year of ultra cycling and clearly one to watch. Despite numerous electronics woes, hedgerow bivy’s on a punctured mat, and at one point navigating from memory, she rolled over the line at 15:27.
What an amazing performance from our first three.

Day 1 on the Divide has been a jacket on jacket off kind of day. There has been sunshine, rainbows, and after checkpoint one quite a lot of rain, through the early evening.

But that hasn’t dampened the spirits of our riders, just their clothes.

The Cornish mining trails have put smiles on peoples faces. The endless food supplies at checkpoint one I’ve put smiles in their bellies. For those not riding through, they are scattered between CP1 & Princetown, where I will also catch a few hours too.
Progress has been swift, despite a few challenges such as Cornwall moving their roads around since the routecheck, and also blasting out the side of a hill for car battery lithium!! Some off road sections have caused a few routing issues in the darkness too.

Lead roder Alex is cracking on trying to get a good start in for tomorrow. He cant check-in to checkpoint 3 until 14:30 tomorrow, but I expect he’ll be queueing up early waiting to check in. Tom, however he’s hot on his heels and it’s not showing any signs of stopping yet either.

Check into dotwatcher early tomorrow morning to see which riders have changed places.

It started with beers and pizza around the campfire last night, where riders got to know each other. And at 6am, the first riders headed off from Lands End into the darkness on their adventure towards the Kent coast.
The morning felt autumnal, but it was dry, and the wind was blowing in the right direction.
In groups of 4 they set off along the Cornish coast, passing through St Just in daylight.
They will make fast progress on this first leg as conditions are favourable despite a lot of rain over the last couple of day. Sunshine & showers is the forecast for today. Expect rainbows.
