A little bit about Meadow Barn Farm...

Meadow Barn Farm offers a mixture of low-impact and off-grid farm holiday accommodation in gorgeous South Devon. Close to Salcombe and the region's best beaches, it's a beautiful place to rewild, unwind and relax.

The focus at Meadow Barn Farm is on low energy and a slow pace of life. We don’t use fossil fuels if we don’t have to, we walk or cycle when we can, we use traditional methods where possible and we always favour the local.

Driftwood Cabin will be open for guests from 1st February after its winter rest. Cosy even on a chilly day, the woodburner gets the place toasty in no time.
The Cabin sits in the middle of our smallholding, never far away from our sheep, pigs and chickens. February will hopefully see the arrival of our next litter of piglets from our lovely Mini, the Berkshire sow.

'Camp Isopel' is our little camp ideal for solo travellers, couples and also families with up to three children. The Shepherds Hut sleeps two and the Bell Tent sleeps up the three or you can use it as a place to relax. A converted horse box is home to your bathroom at one end and a tiny kitchen at the other. From the camp you have views all the way across to Dartmoor while in the other direction you are 15 min walk to the beach at Gara Rock.💚

Sheep can be rather curious at times - particularly ours. We can be busy doing jobs around the farm to turn round and find we have a woolly audience 🐑

We've been cloud spotting! ☁️

Well, we have been enjoying a whimsical game of looking up to see what shapes we can find in the clouds.

Take a peek at the ones we’ve managed to capture this week and tell us what you see 👀 📸

You might need to squint and use your imagination a little bit.... some of the clouds started slipping away before we could get our shot, but that's part of a cloud's uniqueness and part of the fun!

Next week we'll share what we have seen in the clouds ☁️

We've been inspired by the Cloud Appreciation Society to take a moment to look up and appreciate what is above us. We've also popped copies of The Cloud Collectors Handbook in The Cabins and Camp to inspire guests to take a moment and discover the wonders of the clouds.

What’s a duck’s favourite part of the news? 🦆
The feather forecast! 😆

And it’s certainly lovely weather for ducks today in East Portlemouth! 🌧

With that, it feels like the right moment to introduce our new family of ducks:

• The Indian Runner Duck is called Douglas (the tall one at the back)
• The Call Duck is called Penny (the little one in the middle)
• And their adorable baby 🐥 (between them)

Our two white Aylesburys have warmly welcomed them to the farm, taking them under their wing(s)! 🦆
