So, I know I said I was going to do this every couple of days, but this is such an amazing, port intensive cruise, I literally have not had the time! Therefore this is the last week, days 3-8!
We have visited and experienced so many wonderful things I truly don’t know where to start!!
We’ve been to Shimizu, negotiated our first trains on our own and seen tranquil and beautiful Japanese gardens. We docked overnight in Osaka and saw such contrasting parts to the area, from the geisha and temples of Kyoto, to the crazy neon lights and bustling area of Dotonbori, together with the largest aquarium in the world right next to the ship!
We then went to Kochi, most beautiful little place, where we saw the castle and explored the local market.
Highlight so far was the trip to Miyajima Island, from Hiroshima port, which was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, and the deer were so cute - and to see that shrine in the sea - wow!
That was followed by a brief visit to Hiroshima, to pay our respects at the dome in the Peace Park.
We then had a much needed sea day, before calling into Busan, South Korea yesterday - this was a crazy, hot place and I didn’t like it as much as Japan. That said, we saw some fabulous sights, and it’s the biggest port we’ve ever seen, everything is huge!!
Finally a sea day today to relax and just reflect on what we have been so fortunate to have experienced this last week or so. It really is special, and Celebrity Millennium is fab 🛳️.
I’ll recap on the last part of the trip, which includes an overnight in Aomori and a lantern festival 🏮 as well as a few days in Tokyo (finally), when we get home. 🇯🇵 🚢
Apologies if you are family and friends following my personal accounts, and this is repeated!
