Ever wondered what a Virgin Voyages cruise is like? Me too! That’s why three weeks today I will be setting sail on my 25th cruise but FIRST ever Virgin, and taking you lovely people along with me! ☺️

So, I know I said I was going to do this every couple of days, but this is such an amazing, port intensive cruise, I literally have not had the time! Therefore this is the last week, days 3-8!

We have visited and experienced so many wonderful things I truly don’t know where to start!!

We’ve been to Shimizu, negotiated our first trains on our own and seen tranquil and beautiful Japanese gardens. We docked overnight in Osaka and saw such contrasting parts to the area, from the geisha and temples of Kyoto, to the crazy neon lights and bustling area of Dotonbori, together with the largest aquarium in the world right next to the ship!

We then went to Kochi, most beautiful little place, where we saw the castle and explored the local market.

Highlight so far was the trip to Miyajima Island, from Hiroshima port, which was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, and the deer were so cute - and to see that shrine in the sea - wow!
That was followed by a brief visit to Hiroshima, to pay our respects at the dome in the Peace Park.

We then had a much needed sea day, before calling into Busan, South Korea yesterday - this was a crazy, hot place and I didn’t like it as much as Japan. That said, we saw some fabulous sights, and it’s the biggest port we’ve ever seen, everything is huge!!

Finally a sea day today to relax and just reflect on what we have been so fortunate to have experienced this last week or so. It really is special, and Celebrity Millennium is fab 🛳️.

I’ll recap on the last part of the trip, which includes an overnight in Aomori and a lantern festival 🏮 as well as a few days in Tokyo (finally), when we get home. 🇯🇵 🚢

Apologies if you are family and friends following my personal accounts, and this is repeated!

Half term in Germany! We stayed just outside of Dusseldorf in a place called Neuss, right across the river and easily accessible via tram, bus or uber (although the town itself was great and we had a fab fist night at a local bank holiday festival). We also spent the day in Cologne, which I loved and ended up having an extra night there after a disastrous attempt to get home due to the flight being cancelled due to storms! Not something I would ever wish to repeat 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️☺️

Lovely place, had a great time and the boys enjoyed the German ‘beer laws’ and developed a real taste for it! ☺️🇩🇪 🍻 ⛈️

Our Easter cruise was on P&O Britannia for a week from Southampton, where we visited Gijón, A Coruña, Vigo and then Cherbourg before home.

We’ve been on Britannia before and it was nice to go back and see the updates on the ship following the revamp.

All in all, a really lovely relaxing week and would highly recommend this or a similar itinerary, and P&O represent really good value!

If you want any advice on anything cruise related, let me know! 🚢 🐣 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 ⚓️

So a few people have asked lately about Norway cruises and what I would recommend.

I’ve done it twice (May and August) and can honestly say both times were fantastic for different reasons/seasons. Both times were on P&O Iona, which is not only a beautiful modern ship, with so much to do, but is also built for this kind of cruise with the glass windows for views and indoor pool etc.

This one goes from Southampton so you will always have a sea day there and back, but does manage to take in some great stops, including Olden and Stavanger, which were lovely in both rain and shine! Another benefit of cruising there in the summer was that we saw the midnight sun, which was surreal!

There are loads of options though for a Norway cruise throughout the year and you may prefer to go on a smaller line, for example Ambassador or Fred Olsen (which also go from further up North) and tend to get into some of the smaller ports).

There is also the option to do a fly cruise from various places, or there’s a great one at the moment with Celebrity on Apex which takes in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and some other great cities as well as the Fjords.

Just some food for thought - if you need any advice, just let me know!
