So much to do this Half Term 🙂
WHAT'S ON THIS MAY HALF TERM 🎢
🎭 Hosted in unique venues throughout the town of Cowes, CowesFringe guarantees a memorable weekend extravaganza of entertainment for all ages (24-26 May)
🎸 Jack Up Events' 'Ticket to Ryde' is located along the seafront just a stone’s throw from Ryde’s golden sand beaches. This free-to-attend mini festival provides a rich mix of bank holiday entertainment for everyone.
👨🌾 The award-winning Chillerton & Gatcombe Scarecrow Festival returns from 25 May 2024! Find up to 100 scarecrows on the trail throughout the villages of Chillerton and Gatcombe (free entry).
🦕 Join Wight Coast Fossils at National Trust Isle of Wight's Compton Bay and travel back in time 130 million years to the Cretaceous period as you discover the fossils of the Compton coast (28 & 30 May).
🧄 This May half term, why not join the team at The Garlic Farm on one of their farm tours with the family members who run different aspects of the farm? Each tour will have a specific focus based on the expertise of the guide.
👑 Join Queen Victoria and her beloved Albert for 'Victoria's Family Day Out' at English Heritage's Osborne House for old-fashioned thrills and spills on traditional fairground rides like swing boats and the helter-skelter (28-30 May).
🐏 Get ready to hop, skip and jump into Shaun the Sheep: Farmathalon Live! at Tapnell Farm Park this May half term (28–30 May).
🐴 Head over to Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary this May Half Term for a whole host of family fun including Donkey Experiences, Donkey Grooming, guided tours, Pamper a donkey, and much more!
🧸 Wildheart Animal Sanctuary will be hosting a Teddy Bear's Picnic this May Half Term with a big bear trail around the Sanctuary, Make-a-Bear workshops, arts and crafts, face painting and much more.
🏛 Visit the Museum of Island History on 28 & 30 May and create your own artwork with a time traveller twist. There will also be a photo hunt around the gallery - can you spot the items which may have time travelled to the past?
🏺 Head to Newport Roman Villa on 31 May for their 'Clay Day - Build it like a Roman!'. The site will be fully open for you to explore the historic remains including museum and garden.
🎩 Visit The Garlic Farm Restaurant on 29 May for an evening of delicious food and family entertainment from the wonderful, hilarious and talented local magician 'Huxley Magic'.
🎶 Enjoy the soulful beats of live reggae performances at the Reggae Festival in Porchfield on 1 June. Sway to the rhythm and dance your worries away in the heart of the Three Rivers Retreat Centre.
🚂 Isle of Wight Steam Railway will transport the railway back to 1967 to celebrate all things Sixties for their 1960s Weekend (1-2 June). Enjoy live entertainment around the station, with a chance to hop onboard one of the steam trains.
