So this is a new one on me… The Ghost of Brucie has, apparently, been scaring those on a park run by singing the Japanese national anthem, which thankfully is one of the shortest in the world, whilst also stealing beers and getting drunk.

Weirdly we think we once saw his ghost in Chesterfield. We were getting the bus in to do some shopping, about a week after he died, and could have sworn blind that we saw him perched on a tree stump just watching the world go bye.

Joggers at a local park run were stopped in their tracks by what is being described as the drunk ghost of Bruce Forsyth singing the Japanese national anthem 😱

One man claims the ghost of the former Strictly Come Dancing host actually lives in the boot of his car 👻

"I came to the car on Saturday morning to discover both Bruce and all of my weekend beers gone," the anonymous resident said.

"Immediately I was perturbed – the only thing worse than the ghost of Bruce Forsyth is a drunk one."

He says he soon heard the legendary presenter singing loudly down the street.

"Then when I drove along I could hear Brucie's operatic voice belting out the Japanese national anthem," he said.

Joggers taking part in the weekly Bedford park run were apparently put off their stride by the howling apparition.

This bizarre sighting follows claims from psychic Tracey Woolterton earlier this year that she contacted the late television legend and he told her "nice to see ya, to see ya nice."

Strange Britain’s UNSOLVED: Back for Summer 2026 featuring ALL-NEW STORIES

Hot nights. Cold cases. True Crime & Comedy.

Join storyteller and raconteur Adrian Finney as he brings together a completely new collection of cases for his summer tour extension, featuring unsolved murders, baffling investigations, and crimes that stubbornly refuse to give up their secrets.

The subject matter may be grim, but the delivery is anything but. You’ll laugh, possibly at the wrong moments, but that’s okay as sometimes the only sensible way to face the darkness is with a smile and laughter.

It’s a heady mix of history, mystery, and macabre mischief, delivered with pace, personality, and just enough irreverence to keep things deliciously entertaining.

Strange Britain’s UNSOLVED — back because crime doesn’t go on a summer holiday.

Upcoming Events from Strange Britain

We have our regular Ghost Tours running at 7:30 PM every Friday night around Sheffield City Centre. They feature a great mix of history, humour, and ghost stories, told live in the heart of Sheffield.

Route One sees us visit the site of one of Sheffield’s biggest tragedies, along with tales of haunted pubs and an unlikely séance.

Route Two includes the story of Sheffield’s first nightclub, an infamous haunting that went viral back in the 1850s, and a ghost sighting documented over the centuries.

Ghost Tours are priced at £12.50 in advance or £13 if you’d prefer to pay on the night.

On Thursday 30th July, my Unsolved True Crime Tour is in Sheffield at the Wig & Pen. It features plenty of dark humour as well as shocking true crime tales.

Other cities on the tour include Birmingham, Leeds, London, Nottingham, Manchester, Leicester, York, & Gateshead.

Finally, on Wednesday 12th August, Voyage for the Damned is back. It’s a ghostly cruise along the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal.

If you’ve tried to message me on any of the Meta platforms — Facebook, Instagram, or Threads — please be aware that I’ve been dealing with a few technical difficulties.

By that, I mean my account was accessed without authorisation by someone literally half the world away, who then attempted to charge several thousand pounds to my ads account.

Thankfully, my bank stepped in before much money could be taken, and I will be getting back what was taken

Unfortunately, it’s going to mean a few days of patchy access on here, for which I apologise.

This couldn’t have come at a worse time. I’m in the middle of promoting the upcoming summer tour. Ironically, it’s themed around true crime, so Meta, you’d better believe you’re now fair game for future material.

Limiting my access on a payday weekend, just a month before the tour starts, is likely to cost me ticket sales. That’s the reality of the situation.

So please, if you enjoy my events and see posts about them, share them! It takes seconds, costs you nothing, and helps me enormously.

The link, as always, is:

It’s safe to say I am absolutely fuming with Meta. Quite why they thought my meagre ad budget suddenly needed a 2,000-fold increase to promote something in Vietnamese is beyond me.

Thank you all for your understanding, and I’m hopeful that normal service will resume soon.

Adrian
