Celebrating Five Years of Stories
As the fifth anniversary of my first-ever ghost tour approaches, I thought I’d look back at each year I’ve been doing this, beginning with year one.
In October 2021, I made the decision to put on a ghost walk in support of a local cat charity. I’d been researching and writing throughout the COVID lockdowns, and what would become my first book was about to be released.
The event was a huge success, and it started the cogs in my brain turning… Could this work as a job?
October 2021 – Strange Sheffield, my first book, was released.
February 2022 – I filmed a short documentary on local folklore for some students.
April 2022 – For one night only (arguably the biggest lie I’ve ever told myself), I brought back the Bunting Nook ghost tour. It ended up running over three nights and proved very popular. I was admittedly very nervous, but I came alive in front of an audience.
May 2022 – The tour was back, and one of my favourite photos of me was taken.
July 2022 – Things had escalated, as I’d managed to secure permissions and launch the city centre ghost tour.
September 2022 – Using the confidence the tours had given me, I began experimenting… here I am with neon green hair.
September 2022 – Exploring the back streets of Sheffield city centre.
My life had changed but little did I realise just where this journey into the unknown was about to take me…
In a few days I’ll pick up the story with my second year.
