Day 12 - made the 200 mile journey to our final destination of Potes in the Picos mountains via Burgos. Misjudged the petrol stations and PP pretty much ran out up in the hills about 12 miles out so we went and got him a litre and ran it back up to him. Found the appt which is amazing with 2 bedrooms and a pool, hot tub and sauna with a lovely balcony with great views. Walked into Potes for dinner -again not many photos as I’ve been here before

Day 9 - after brekkie, we decided to visit a town called Cuenca as I’d seen some photos and it looked good. Wow such an authentic Spanish town, the old part basically built into mountain sides with a big valley through it. There’s an old suspension bridge, houses hanging from the hills and incredibly hilly - there was some kind of bull run festival going on which (unfortunately) meant that all the bars and restaurants in the main area were bloody closed (again) so this time we ended up in a supermarket and cooked a very decent pasta bolognese. At last some fairly good food ! Amazing place though 👍

Day 8 -after major weather analysis we decided to head north east to Zaragoza and we had a dry run all day apart from a couple of small sprinkles. A couple of stops along the way for brekkie etc and we arrived at our apartment just outside the city. A 20 minute amble into town to find somewhere to have dinner. Zaragoza certainly is a beautiful place with a main plaza and historical buildings. Pity about the dinner as most places were too early to be open so we ended up with a bloody kebab !

Day 7 - woke up to torrential rain having witnessed thunder and lightening most of the night. We were thinking of heading south to Alicante when the rain stopped, clouds parted and within a couple of hours we had bright sunshine. Had a wander around the old town, got some breakfast and then I laid on the beach for a few hours to top up my fading tan. Dean had another kip (on top of his 12 hours last night) and PP faffed around with his videos 😂. Nice Italian dinner and of course vino tinto for me while we try and figure out a dry route tomorrow

Day 6 - off early to ride to our next destination called Pen*scola. A fairly uneventful day really with a lot of highway riding. Dean is now suffering with a heavy cold and Paul is tired out - I of course am fine with a nice bottle of Vino Tinto in hand 🍷. The forecast tomorrow (we’re supposed to be here for 2 days to relax with beach time) is sh*te so we’re considering a major change of route tomorrow - we’ll see 😂. Shame really as this place is so nice. Great beaches, vibe, restaurants etc

Day 5 - a day off the bikes as we got a cab into Barcelona to see the sights - mostly on a hop on/ off bus. What a gorgeous place. Later on, by some weird twist of fate, one of my kids (Shane) from the boat trip in the Philippines was in town and we met up for beers and curry. What a brilliant day !

Day 4 - up early to ride to Barcelona. Started off quite chilly but after an hour or so, up in the hills the sun came up and we were treated to some more amazing roads and scenery. Getting close to our airbnb about 10 miles outside the city, frikkin google maps took us to a turning which looked a bit dodgy. Up a hill which became very rocky, with deep trenches etc. Quickly became clear that my GTR weighing in at more than a third of a ton was not built for off roading and I came off - albeit slowly and let it down as gently as possible before a backwards somersault 👍. Luckily no real harm done and after the owner messaged a new map app location we found our lovely house. Nipped into town for beer and pizza and off to bed late.

Day 3 - basically a really nice riding day through more beautiful scenery but especially the Mirador de la Creu de Guils de la Canto which had a spectacular viewing gallery over an amazing vista. Eventually made it to our lovely hotel in Andorra - went for Chinese (PP’s idea) which was pretty average but a lot of beer improved it a bit.

Day 2 - well this was eventful. Petrol stop and coffee in Jaca then upwards towards the Pyrenees. It got very cold and started sleeting so took a quick coffee stop. Thankfully after half an hour or so we crossed into France way up high and were greeted with sun and blue skies with amazing scenery everywhere. After a while we stopped to give my new drone (which I bought off Dean a few weeks ago) its maiden tour flight. I was a smidge rusty so as it was hovering happily over this beautiful river, Dean decided to take over the controls to get a good video, but after about a minute he flew it into some trees and I saw it plummet to earth. He tried so hard to find it but it was gone forever !
Oh well.
We carried on riding through amazing mountain passes and stopped for a nice burger for lunch. After our next stop Paul fell off his bike after parking it and he dived out of the way to avoid it falling on him. After that, we were happily riding along at about 50 when this fu***ng idiot woman pulled out of a turning and as soon as she saw me she bloody stopped right in front of me ! I managed to throw the anchors out just in time and stay upright (thank goodness for ABS - it was definitely the worst moment on a bike ever ! Back into Spain towards Les, we had some fabulous twisty roads with such good surfaces and not a pothole in sight before finally arriving at our hotel. Walked into to village and had a bit of dinner and a couple of beers before turning in. What a day !

Possibly the worst days riding ever ! Boiling hot on bike deck, pi***ng with rain, Paul’s sat nav went weird when wet, Dean couldn’t see his sat nav as his eyes are f****ed, my phone cable got wet and stopped working, Paul’s microphone packed up (blessing 😂), my heated grips would only stay on low, both unmanned toll booths were a joke trying to use tickets and pay, and we were all cold, damp and pi**ed off. But hey as we got towards Jaca the rain stopped, we dried out and the roads were fabulous. Finally made it our great little hotel about 8.30. Found this great little bar with fab food so all is well with world 😂😂
