ML accessible caravan

Hi all, I'm home from a lovely 9 days at the caravan, where I made a few improvements and really enjoyed time with just my girls and my oldest daughter's boyfriend.

Just to make people aware, ants are getting in all the caravans. I have put a little ant powder down and placed six ant traps around the caravan. I hope they will work, and would like to apologise in advance.

Here is another update on the dates available. Not many left tho!!

It's gone so quick!! A year ago today I went and signed the papers for the caravan. It has been a great year making lots of memories and allowing others to make memories as well. Hopefully, many more years to come!!

Ingoldmells has become the UK's most accessible beach. With my caravan being a 5 min walk from the hut, it makes the prefect location for beach lovers.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all okay. Sorry, I've not been posting much lately. I've been dealing with a very awkward guest from a few weeks ago. They've complained about nearly every little detail in the caravan and even made some stuff up, which has made me feel like giving up the whole caravan. I'll admit the caravan isn't perfect. It needs bits done to it, which is slowly getting done each time we go up there.

This has been something I've wanted to do for many years, as being disabled myself and loving getting away when my youngest is off school, I found it hard it find anywhere suitable for my needs plus 2 daughters, as hotel policies are only 2 people in an accessible room. This meant us having to have a family room and me having to struggle to wash, shower etc.

I'm still pretty new to owning the caravan as I have only had it 1 year at the end of May. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know my situation. I try my very best to provide everything for you in my caravan, TV, bedding, plates, forks, kettle, air fryer, toaster etc. Since having the caravan all set and ready to go, some things have got stained, or damaged by accident, as I must say I have had some of the best guests over the year. But I expect these things, as no one is perfect and I know having a disability as well we all have little mishaps sometimes.

What upset me most about this certain guest is that their family member has the same disability as me. Why did they not understand??

I'll mention a few bits they have complained about -

1 stained bowl - yes, it was stained by food being heated up in the microwave. Which to me as long as its been washed, its still fine to use. However, I do have 4 sets of different bowls in the caravan as I, myself can only use certain bowls.

Springs sticking out the mattress - this is not the case at all. We all have different ideas of comfort which is totally understandable. BUT no springs are sticking out of any mattresses in the caravan. I, myself have stayed at the caravan for 2 weeks over easter and if I had found any springs I would have done something about it while I was there!

The TV unit laminate had peeled off due to the electric heater being placed and used on top of it, This is being dealt with hopefully while we are there next week, if the new vinyl wrap arrives before we leave. Again this was an accident and I'd rather people were warm more than anything.

Please understand I do try my best, I am a single mum, unable to drive, so I can only get up to the caravan in half terms as getting there take 7 hrs in total on buses and trains.

Hi Everyone, I've not been online for a while. I've been enjoying 2 weeks at the caravan with the kids and making slight adjustments to the caravan. Like lights up the ramp for getting back late at night, covered the massive hole in the main bedroom with a nice full length mirror, new thermostat on the boiler so hopefully the gas will last longer, as i find embarrassing when it runs out while guests are here. Will take new pictures before we leave. A new set of blackout curtains in the main bedroom for them really sunny morning so we don't get woken up. Also hung to bits up around the caravan to make it less pain and boring.
My caravan is 6 berths, 12 ft wide, and 36 ft long. It has wider doors throughout, a wider hallway, a big master bedroom so a wheelchair can get right up to the bed, grab rails all around the toilet and shower. The shower is roll-in with a drop-down seat to transfer onto, and the shower doors open neither way. The kitchen has a lowered sink with some Worktop space. The kitchen and lounge are massive, bigger than they look in the pictures. Windows are double-glazed throughout, with central heating and gas fire.
Pillows, duvet and bed covers are supplied.
In the kitchen, there is a fridge, freezer, microwave, and gas. Plates (most plates are non-breakable), cups, glasses, frying pan, sauce pan, cutlery (plastic for children), mugs, kettle, toaster, air fryer, bin, mop and bucker, sweeping brush and dustpan and fire safety equipment. The caravan is fitted with both smoke and carbon dioxide alarms (newly fitted on 15th June 2024).
The living room has a 32” smart TV with apps like Netflix, Disney+, ITV X, and I Player. People are welcome to the hotspot and sign in to their own accounts; please sign out before you leave.
Under the middle sofa, there is a pull-out bed with pillows and a duvet underneath the side sofa.
In a cupboard underneath the TV, there are a few books for all ages and hopefully some games to come.
The bathroom has a toilet brush, plunger, and bin.

New news!! Over the last few weeks I've been designing new signs for the caravan, a welcome sign for outside the front door and little information signs for around the caravan for helping people know what to do 😃. These will be going up at the end of May!!
